BAG O' BOOKS

Cassie, have you read any of the In Death books by JD Robb? Her newest one came out, and that makes it twenty-six in the series, but they are futuristic (2054 when the series starts). Just enough to make you envious, but nothing that's confusing. Highly, highly recommend them.

I used to read a lot of her books, the Nora Roberts ones. I haven't read any of her JD Robb books yet, I'll have to look for them someday!

Have you read Even Cowgirls Get the Blues? I think you'd love it. It's cool, enlightening, sorta feminist, but not in a feminazi way.. more in a way that says the author likes women (lots of men love women, but a lot of them don't like women). If I ever had my own message board, I'd have to name one of the forums The Rubber Rose!

^Love her as Nora & JD.

Even Cowgirls Get the Blues...I think I saw the movie. Is that the one with Uma Thurman?

I haven't seen it either, but I don't watch a lot of movies.

Yay! We can finally get it together and read a book at the same time! OH and next time I order books, I'm gonna get some Philip Jose Farmer, probably the Riverworld series. I've never read anything by him.

so I've picked up Virtual Light.
They have it listed under 'fiction" but I only found a few of his titles on the shelf in the adult fiction section and I knew the book was in the library so I snuck over to the Sci Fi aisle and there it was!
Obviously they will only check it out to those who Seek Beyond the regular fiction shelves!
Tricksy Librarians!

Shoot, there are too many good parts to pick just one. I did like it when she met Bonanza Jellybean for the first time, and the Chink.

LOL! ah, Jellybean! yeah!
it's a great book. I loaned it out years ago to this stupid bint living in our residence at uni and she never returned it before she skipped out on us! :rwmad:

have you started VL yet?

Yeah, I read a few pages this morning. I probably won't really get into it til tomorrow, when it's quiet around here.

I've got another review book, Daring the Moon. Looks to be a little chick lit paranormal. I HATE CHICK LIT

^I always wonder what they mean when they say chick lit...are the Sookie Stackhouse books chick lit?

I am rolling along with VL..it was a little hard to get into at first but the story's starting to gel. I like the bike that says "back off!" if you get too close to it before it recognizes you as the owner.

No, chick lit is more along the lines of "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and "Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood." Most of the chick lit these days revolve around high-powered women who are obsessed with shopping, getting their kids in the right schools, and asking themselves if they should have an affair.

*gags*

I like to read outside and it is cold today. I've only read a few pages so I'm a bit behind. It should warm up this afternoon and I will be in full swing.

Well, so far Daring the Moon isn't too bad. Reminds me a little too much of the movie Wolf with Michelle Pfieffer and Jack Nicholson.

Cassie where are you now!?!
The farther you get into the book, the more sense it starts to make and the faster you go.
