GOOD EPISODE, yes. Liked the boardroom scene (okay, I'd already scene it on facebook) and it really reminded me of Guinan's "YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT SLAVERY" in TNG's 'The Measure Of A Man'. The Adama stuff was pretty good and the Adama theme gets me everytime (MUST BE THE BAGPIPES.) Then gamer kid shows up and ruins everything for Joe again.
The Tamara stuff was the best part and New Cap City totally came across as a believable game. And I'll say it so no one else has to: Tamara is hot.
When she was walking away with the gun after she'd shot the gamers I kept thinking that she could be the personality basis for Six. Actually my comparisons to Six started when she pushed the gamer boy down and stood in front of him to keep him from being shot in the vault. It was the same stance Six had when she stood in front of Baltar during the attack on Caprica. I don't think she IS Six, but I can see her personality having a huge effect on the Cylon psyche or whatever.
Well, Six was created by the Final Five and they're all off on Earth right now. THE REAL EARTH. But yeah, I think she'll eventually end up in a cylon body and have a part to play in the war.
It was interesting to me that in the conference room, after Zoe ripped her arm off, they never showed the "human" Zoe again. They've been mirroring all of the robot's actions with her "human" actions, like the blood from the severed finger on her neck, etc. Did the removal of the arm cause her pain? If her programming was entering the command programs in the robot body, would that mean she has lost a bit of her "soul" after removing the arm? TOO MANY QUESTIONS FOR MY LITTLE MIND TO HANDLE!
I've been on the fence about Caprica... UNTIL NOW. What a fantastic episode!! The Blade Runner/Matrix style New Cap', Tamara (didn't think she was that great a casting til now), the new guy (ironically kinda looks like Jake Sully's avatar...), all the Tauron cultural stuff, the Robocop scene (but why do they have their private meetings in a gigantic echoey room? I guess... just because THEY CAN?) and of course I loved all the visuals as usual. Practically every shot seems to have a CG element... I don't know how they manage it, even taking into account the use of stock footage.
The relative lack of Zoe and complete lack of Elle Robinson didn't really notice too much. Best episode so far, DEFINITELY!
Mmm. For the rest of that scene I couldn't concentrate on the dialogue because I was wondering when they'd show her arm. Maybe it would've been too graphic? Presumably, it'd return again either right away, in the same way that Tamara's wounds healed, or when Cute Nerdy Guy attaches a new robo arm.
