omg, I could hardly make it through the book! - they even have a part cast for the "well-fed cannibal"! and the legless "man in the cellar"! shit! bet they'll include the bar-b-qed baby scene.
one more fucking post-apocalyptic film about man's seemingly unlimited potential for evil unto his fellow man. great. maybe we could just slit our wrists now and save the price of the film ticket?

although, ER will be happy to see Viggo in another starring role.;)

they may never have known exactly what happened - if it was a surprise attack and the infrastucture was destroyed instantly there'd be no way to know for sure.
Fundies would say it was Armaggedon. Betcha the movie makes more of the storyline about the "blood cult" he referred to.


remember when he's remembering the flash of bright light and a series of muffled boom boom sounds (shit, dont think that's the word he used & cant remember page number)?

I just assumed some jerks dropped the bomb.....If a huge comet hit the earth things would get very dark before impact, for instance.
The peeps burnt in the road and the melted trucks, asphalt etc added to that impression, for me, anyway -

anyone else have a different idea of what happened?

I think it was more of a natural disaster, either a comet (it wouldn't have to be that big), or an asteroid. The impact would cause massive amounts of dirt up into the atmosphere, plus the explosion would set off a firestorm that could travel around the globe. Still, I wonder how many years the man and boy have been on the road.. seems like some plant life would have returned.

are you watching So You Think You can Dance? I sorta got drawn into it as it got to the top ten finalists, some of whom are truly wonderful hoofers.

Don't worry about spoiling it for me. The book has been out for 2 years, I've already known the basic story for a while.

I don't watch any dance shows. I'm watching Project Runway, Big Brother, Shear Genius, Kathy Griffin, Flipping Out, and I think I got sucked into The Two Coreys.
