Snoop Dogg and Don 'Magic' Juan accused of sexual assault, battery in new lawsuit

Snoop Dogg and his associate Bishop Don Magic Juan are being sued for sexual assault and battery for an incident that an unnamed accuser says occurred in 2013 in California.

The allegations come just days before the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday, where the rapper is expected to perform with Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Dr. Dre.

Lawyers for a Jane Doe, who worked as a dancer and performed during concerts for Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) and Bishop Don Magic Juan (real name Donald Campbell), say she was coerced into performing a sexual act by Snoop Dogg and was sexually assaulted by the two, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

USA TODAY has reached out to Snoop Dogg's rep and lawyer for comment.

Rapper Snoop Dogg attends a news conference for Triller Fight Club's inaugural 2021 boxing event at The Venetian Las Vegas on March 26, 2021 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The court documents claim she and her friend met the men at a nightclub in Anaheim. After her friend left, the accuser asked Campbell to take her home. Instead, he took her back to his home, where she fell asleep.

Jane Doe woke up the next morning to Campbell forcing her to have oral sex with him before eventually leaving her alone, the filings claim. She then told Campbell she wasn't feeling well, but he insisted they go to Snoop Dogg's studio where he was filming "Snoop Dogg’s Double G News Network."

Lawyers for the woman say Campbell told her: “Put the dress on” and “let’s go to Snoop’s videotaping. I want to see if he will make you the weather girl."

When Jane Doe arrived at the studio, she says, she still wasn't feeling well. She went to the bathroom, where she says Snoop Dogg barged in while she was still on the toilet and, like Campbell, tried to force her to perform oral sex.

The court documents say she recalled Snoop Dogg's criminal history and previous rape accusations, so she obliged out of fear. After she left the bathroom, Campbell approached her and asked her to take a picture with the rapper, to which she consented out of "fear for her safety."

After the incident, the lawsuit says, Snoop Dogg and Campbell never hired her as a dancer again.

Jane Doe and the defendants tried to settle the matter through mediation on Tuesday but it was ultimately "unsuccessful." The lawsuit includes a screenshot of Snoop Dogg's Instagram post shared early in the morning after the mediation. The post says "Gold digger season is here be careful nefews (sic) keep ya guards up and keep ya circle small."

The lawsuit also says that because of the incident, Jane Doe "continues to suffer great pain of mind and body, shock, emotional distress, physical manifestations of emotional distress including embarrassment, loss of self-esteem, disgrace, humiliations, and loss of enjoyment of life."

Snoop Dogg has a history of accusations

The lawsuit also acknowledges the rapper's history of "sexual abuse, harassment, threatening of females and retaliation," which Jane Doe's lawyers say points to a pattern of behavior.

Lawyers claim they anticipate Snoop Dogg will retaliate against Jane Doe and sue her "for extortion just as he did to Kylie Bell in an effort to intimidate her."

In 2005, makeup artist Kylie Bell accused the rapper of rape but later dropped the charges.

Court documents also list the rapper's defense of Bill Cosby, whose sexual assault conviction was overturned last year, and references a 2003 Rolling Stone interview in which he refers to himself as a "pimp."

Snoop Dogg said he did a "Playboy tour" where he had a bus full of 10 women following him.

"City to city … hotel room to hotel room, athlete to athlete, entertainer to entertainer. … I get a couple of their players to come hang out, pick and choose, and whichever one you like comes with a number. A lot of athletes bought (sex) from me. … I dreamed of being a pimp.”

Snoop Dogg's feud with Iggy Azalea, Gayle King

Lawyers for Jane Doe also referenced the Long Beach rapper's history of publicized feuds with celebrities Iggy Azalea and Gayle King.

Snoop Dogg instigated the fight in 2014 by posting an offensive meme about Azalea on Instagram. She fired back about the "mean pic," noting that his bodyguards frequently ask to take photos with her. Snoop Dogg ended up posting a video warning Azalea that her man "better check you before I do." He then chuckled.

He ended up apologizing to the rapper, who accepted his apology.

In 2020, Snoop Dogg also apologized to King after blasting her for conducting an interview with WNBA player Lisa Leslie that touched on the legacy of the late Kobe Bryant. King broached a sensitive topic by invoking the basketball icon's 2003 rape charge.

"Hey Gayle. (expletive) u. Kobe was our superhero. (expletive)," Snoop said. "How dare you try to tarnish my (expletive) homeboy’s reputation. … Respect the family and back off (expletive) before we come and get you."

Snoop clarified his comments more defensively, insisting he "didn't threaten" King and saying he was "very nonviolent" and spoke "from the heart."

Gayle King accepts apology, says she 'doesn't always get it perfect'

The rapper later offered a more heartfelt, nuanced apology. "Gayle King, I publicly tore you down by coming at you in a derogatory manner based off of emotions about me being angry about questions that you asked. (I) overreacted. Should have handled it way different than that. I was raised way better than that."

King accepted the rapper's apology in a statement provided by CBS spokesperson Samantha Graham.

"I accept the apology and understand the raw emotions caused by this tragic loss,” King said.

She continued that she never meant to add to the pain of Bryant's loss.

“As a journalist, it is sometimes challenging to balance doing my job with the emotions and feelings during difficult times,” she said. “I don’t always get it perfect but I’m constantly striving to do it with compassion and integrity.”

Well, I'm not sure where this fits in nog "history", but a contact in the Wilmington Police Department informs me that Crackfoot is a "person of interest" in a series of what my friend calls, "incidents" in which a black male has been observed approaching random women, then pantomiming the act of detaching his penis and throwing it at these women while shouting, "Mmmm! Martin Luther King Jr...On August 28, 1963, some 100 years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves, a young man named Martin Luther King Jr. climbed the marble steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. to describe his vision of America.

What is the hope and dream of Martin Luther King?
Martin Luther King Jr's. hopes is for African Americans to be able to participate in mainstream American society. The speech references both American history and American culture to illustrate examples of what African Americans wanted—the American Dream and unalienable rights. Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream was more significant than the danger to his person and his belongings. He was a hero for all, and we can keep that dream alive by helping others. By being everyday heroes that return spite with kindness, and help out one another. He changed the world. Had he lived, Martin, dreamer and doer, would turn 90 years old on Tuesday. Before an assassin's bullet cut through the Memphis, Tennessee, air and claimed his life on April 4, 1968, he led the modern civil rights movement. He opposed war. African American civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent resistance to racial prejudice in America. A powerful orator, he appealed to Christian and American ideals and won growing support from the federal government and northern whites.
