Tis, try Hall's Methol cough drops -- they do help a lot. Taste horrid in the sugar free variety, but taste a little better in the full sugar ones. I have become well acquainted with the cough drops since I've had bronchitis twice in May and September this past year. I still have a package in my handbag just in case. It took three prescriptions of antibiotics and codein cough surup (just made me woozy didn't do much for the cough) before the bronchitis was cured. God, I can't face a third bout of bronchitis again!

I forgot to say that I am finally feeling better. Without a fever for 3 days but still coughing, but the coughing finally does not hurt and no medications today.

I'm glad you're feeling better, Mirah. I luckily dodged the bullet of the Christmas flu this year (which is close to a miracle, working in health care).

Yeah, it's almost mandatory. If you don't get it you have to sign a form that basically amounts to "I HAVE VOLUNTARILY NOT RECEIVED THE NECTAR OF THE GODS IN THE FORM OF A FLU SHOT. SHOULD I DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH IT IS NOT THE FAULT OF MY EMPLOYER."
In the six years being out in the work force I've got the shot, and got sick once. Only missed two days of work. One of my past colleagues refuses to get it every year, and ended up with a flu so bad in 2011 that she was hospitalized with pneumonia for a couple months. I don't judge people who do or do not get the flu shot, but it does help (as well as copious amounts of hand washing).
