Pro basketball reemerging in Asia amid coronavirus recovery

Professional basketball seems prepared to return to the countries in Asia where the coronavirus first appeared, though games likely will be played without spectators.Games in South Korea, a country that drew worldwide praise for its success in cont aining the virus, seem closest to returning. South Korea's league, the KBL, has games scheduled at the end of March, though in empty arenas. Many teams will see their American players landing in airports around the country over the next week, several agents told ESPN. The South Korean league has been suspended since late February, and many foreign players elected to return home for their scheduled four-week hiatus. Not all foreign players will return, but it appears enough will to attempt to play games in two weeks.

Four Nets players test positive for coronavirus

Four Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive for the coronavirus, the team announced Tuesday. Of the four players, one is exhibiting symptoms. All four are isolated and are undergoing medical care from team physicians, the team said in a statement. Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the player experiencing symptoms woke up Tuesday with some aches. The Nets did not identify which players have tested positive. The four players join Utah Jazz stars Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell and the Pistons Christain Wood as NBA players known to have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The vast majority of people recover from the virus. According to the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three to six weeks to recover.

That's a reversal from the NHL's initial directive, which asked players to stay in their home NHL cities as the league sorted out what to do with its paused season. According to a source, the change in policy came following the recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Sunday night that organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States for eight weeks to slow the spread of the coronavirus.

Ducks, Kings say none of their players show signs of coronavirus
Their announcements, in separate statements, came after an unnamed Ottawa Senators players tested positive for the virus. The Ducks and Kings were Ottawa's last two opponents before the NHL season was suspended, hosting the Senators on March 10 and March 11, respectively.
