There is, like, a portal to an alternate dimension that is between the floor and about 17" off the floor. Picked a couple ticks off The Dog this morning. Smooshed them on the nearby coffee table. When I was done petting The Dog I swept them off the table and into the palm of my hand. But somehow missed. And they disappeared like the Bermuda Triangle. Just gone.
Later I was working at my desk (which, truthfully, is more like 30" off the floor) and dropped my pen. It *disappeared*. Looked all over the floor and it was nowhere. Moved everything like wastebasket and flip-flops up off the floor for unobstructed view. Still no pen. OK. Fuck you. I will win. Go get a flashlight to look under the filing cabinet part of the desk and the nearby bed if that's what it takes. On the way back into the room I step on the missing pen. Where was it 1 minute ago when I was looking for it? Who knows?
