New show coming to SyFy in April. COULD BE GOOD. The effects look awesome in the trailer. Also, I think that alien chick is Jaime Murray!

It's going to be about aliens whose planetary system has been destroyed, so they come to earth looking for a place to live. Of course we were rude and told them they can't crash on our couches.

Could be good. It almost sounds as though it could have something to say about immigration worries, but that might be expecting too much.
 
It's also going to be a video game. I wonder what the game will be like. WILL IT SUCK?

The 12-episode season will launch Monday, April 15 at 9 p.m., the cable network announced Monday. Defiance bridges a scripted television and online gaming for the first time.

The series and the game feature an interconnected world and storylines that will launch later this year with the release of the game, ahead of the TV series debut. Defiance introduces an exotically transformed planet Earth, its landscapes permanently altered following the sudden – and tumultuous – arrival of seven unique alien races.

OMG BEAR! He's doing the game and the show. So, the music will be awesome, even if the show isn't.
 
When I searched on YouTube for this (to see if there was a new trailer) all the videos were about the game rather than the tv show. So I hope the show isn't just an afterthought.
 
I think that's because the game is out already, but the show doesn't start for a couple weeks. I'M BEING OPTIMISTIC.

The trailers haven't exactly gripped me.

With this and that thing were the power goes off, looks like end of the world shows are the new vampires.
 
Well it's a genre show with music by Bear McCreary so it'll probably last about a season before it gets cancelled.

But I'll watch it and buy the soundtrack anyway so.
 
I think I read a tweet about SyFy posting the first 14 minutes online, but I guess it isn't on YouTube. I DIDN'T LOOK VERY HARD, OKAY?
