Doctor Who: Series 4

Probabby.

Certainly. Although you only need to download the first two episodes and then rather than downloading the rest, simply watch those two over and over again. Then download the finale.

!

But then he'd miss Michelle Ryan standing over a pool of water.

YOU MEAN EX-BIONIC WOMAN MICHELLE RYAN? HER AMERICAN TELEBISION CAREER REALLY BIT IT, EH WOT?

She's made a semi-comeback over here. She was in Merlin and a Jekyll & Hyde adaptation as well as being in Doctor Who later in the year.

She's joining The Mighty Boosh next series too.

(Lie.)

I just can't believe that show is aimed at kids, I don't mean little kids but like what 10 and up? That shit is scarey. The Lost Forrest episode was ridiculously unsettling but it was nice to see Alex Kingston again, I like her.

I suppose the idea is kids watch it with their parents so they can explain that it's "just pretend" and such.

What if your parents are sociopaths who tell you that it's all real, and the Cybermen will be coming to get you???

HOW IRONIC THAT A SHOW ORIGINALLY MEANT TO EDUCATE CHILDREN NOW SCARES THEN (that's not really ironic).

What, was it supposed to educate them about history?

The stories set in the past would educate them about history, the stories set in the future with educate them about science.

That's why the first two companions were a History teacher and a Science Teacher.

Which down the line because young lady companions with big tits.

I watched the last three episodes last night, and while they were damn good, they weren't quite as good as Series 3 finales. Still, it was pretty sweet seeing all of The Doctor's "family" back together, helping him. I actually laughed when I saw Mickey and Rose's mum. The fact that they tied "Bad Wolf" into the story was pretty cool, also.

I liked the half-human Doctor, it was an interesting way to get rid of the Daleks, something The Doctor seems unwilling to do. It also gave a bit of closure to the Doctor/Rose storyline; I was happy to see Rose get a human version of The Doctor to grow old with.

Davros' point about The Doctor was actually a great one. He abhors guns, never uses weapons, and always tries to avoid violence. But he does have a penchant for using his human friends to do his dirty work.

I would be remiss if I didn't give special mention to Bernard Cribbins, who plays "grandad" Wilfred Mott. He's a tremendous actor, and was stellar in every episode in which he appeared.

All in all, a mixed season. Some excellent episodes, mixed with some sub-standard ones. I saw the preview for the 2008 Xmas special (actually d/l it now), and I fear that they've run out of ideas. I mean, the Cybermen, again.

So, when does the next special air in the U.K.??

I liked the first part of the season finale...then the second part went to fanwank shit. The half human clone Doctor existed only so that Rose could shag his brains out. It was tacky. And Billie didn't look as fit and had something wrong with her teeth in those episodes.

Cribbins was always great though, yes. They should have him as a companion in a special.

Donna doing away with the Daleks by pushing buttons and reeling off technobabble was just insulting.

Yeah, but she was super-intelligent. Her being super-intelligent somehow meant that those buttons were now DEADLY to Daleks (even though they were buttons on a Dalek ship.)

Don't forget that these were buttons that were in a prison cell! Of a very clever person!

I thought the same thing about Billie's teeth! I remembered her teeth being better in "Diary of a Call Girl", that series was shot after her run on Doctor Who, right?

Umm, I'm not sure. I remember she was pregnant when shooting the second series of Call Girl and she thought she looked fat or something. So I think that would have been before Who, yeah.

I think she had dental surgery right before Who. The big fool.
