Shitty Dual said:It's no mystery, but still very weird to me how the same epithets carry different levels of animosity in different cultures. Calling someone "dog" here in the US is often a compliment. Calling someone a dog in the Muslim world might get you stabbed.
As for the UK: It blows my mind that calling someone a "bastard" over there is roughly the equivalent as calling someone a "cocksucker" over here. And I've never understood out why "bloody" is considered so awful, across the pond.
