Falling Skies

I watched most of the first episode on tv tonight (it ended with the kid skateboarding, it was only on an hour) and it was okay, but I don't know if it's something I'd go out of my way to keep watching. The aliens looked quite good but the characters didn't GRAB ME like in Lost or something good. Don't know. Moon Bloodgood is hot, don't know about the others yet.

Yeah, the characters aren't especially interesting. It's a shame, because (aside from them being so happy, as I keep complaining) they're fairly realistic. They're just a bit dull.

Saw the first one, for a first episode it really dosnt grab you and demand you keep watching.

And all I kept thinking is someone got the script of the walking dead, and crossed out zombies and wrote aliens, then scribbled in the side of the page "more survivors, more kids"

The second episode is better than the first, they aired the 1st and 2nd eps together over here.

I can't compare it to The Walking Dead cuz I haven't seen it, but I'm sure The Walking Dead isn't the first sci fi to use the same formula... it's post apocalyptic, so there are going to be similarities.

He claims he's Devon Richards and he has an IMDb page SO I BELIEVE HIM. I also believe him about Pope being an afterthought and the Lourdes chick being turned into a preachy constantly and loudly praying GOD BOTHERER.

I haven't heard that the show got picked up for another season, so maybe it'll get better. I don't hate it, but I am annoyed by it sometimes. There aren't that many science fiction shows that are serious (instead of sci fi comedies) and I just would like them to be good. They don't have to be as good as BSG, but they could try.

The bit when the doctor slapped her hand DRAMATICALLY on the wall and the paper fell down = fail.

It was another oooohhkkkaaaaay episode. I mean, considering it resolved the missing Ben storyline, which has been the main drive of the show so far, it was quite muted.

Hopefully they won't from now on be doing the same exact story, except looking for that blonde girl instead. They didn't mention her this episode and the other blonde girl really seems to have replaced her, but they did bring her up a few times last week so they've not forgotten entirely.

I'm still like 2 episodes behind, I like it pretty well so far, not many complaints. But comparing it to BSG is like comparing "Vampire Diaries" to "Buffy".

I think the other blond girl is supposed to be back before the season is over. I think she's in like 9 episodes or something.

Watched the second episode tonight. The new blond girl (the one who was raped) is definitely hotter than the other blond girl. The Sawyer rip-off guy was a bit blatant. It's still okay, will keep watching.

I'm caught up, with the exception of last night's episode (I can't stay up until 11 o'clock, OK?? I fucking have to get up at 4:45 every morning, so get off my back BIGBRONOSES!) and I still like it. I mean, it's a bit derivative, and the story needs to speed up a bit, but I like the characters, and it's reasonably well-done Sci Fi, so of course I'll stick with it. Plus I like Moon Bloodgood, I think she is not ugly.

Moon Bloodgood is ATTRACTIVE.

I don't know what I think about the last episode. It was OK, I guess.

Oh, I assumed she was Native American considering her name.

Wacky, you WON'T BELIEVE which former Neighbours actor was in this week's episode.

oh i can't keep up this charade any longer it was MICKEY. FUCKIONG MIKCKY WTF?!?!

In other news: good episode! The actiony bit with Little Jimmy was quite well done and it was good to find out a bit about Ben after they've been raving on about him for so long. Surprising ending, too, even though it was obvious that something was afoot right from the beginning.

I'm a bit at a loss about the moralising in the show. You'll get one scene that's all "OMG GUNS ARE SO AWESOME WHY DON'T YOU HAVE ONE?!", then you'll get a scene where the camera very deliberately includes the "Education is a better safeguard of liberty than a standing army" quote on the front of the school. If they're trying to show both sides of the equation then it's not really working because it just makes the episodes seem really unbalanced and directionless.
