Another so-so episode really, though I had it on while in chat so my attention was divided. Didn't realise the black guy had died til the funeral. I wonder why the black kid (this looks bad, doesn't it?) is so brainwashed by the aliens but Ben isn't. And why is the kid going around talking shit about humans and no one's insisting he be locked up? Blatantly only a matter of time til he tries to kill someone.
Last two eps look very interesting, if the trailers are to be believed! lol!
I was reading and watching it at the same time so I didn't catch all of it, but are they insinuating that the harnessed kids eventually turn into aliens or something?
I saw the one that ended with God Girl leading the entire cast in a very Catholic prayer today. Lucky EVERY character turned out to be Catholic, isn't it? I wish a muslim or an atheist had walked in. Even gruff military guy joined in!
Also the EVIL DOCTOR is far too evil with his "HAHAHA, LET'S TORTURE THE ALIEN, I'M EVIL!" shit.
God Girl did a hymn this week. It really is her only character trait, besides fancying Hal, the one with the above average looks who doesn't look a thing like his siblings, who are both blond.
The trailer made it sound like the aliens are transformed kids, with that "they look almost human" line, but they could've cut the sound from a different bit to the images. Maybe Dr Glass was talking about the actors.
This week I liked the (it's in spoiler tags because it's a genuine spoiler)
new aliens!
Very creepy looking and sliiiightly different from what everyone had been guessing. Sure, it turns out the skitters are genetically modified slaves, but the bipedal nature of the new aliens explains why the mechs also walk on two legs.
Annoying thing: the characters KEEP discussing sensitive information in front of the creepy kid who was under alien control and who constantly talks about how great the aliens are. IDIOTS. Weaver even did it while staring at the kid's mysterious psychic drawing of his house ffs!!
Also I thought they'd dissected a skitter ages ago.
Saw episode five (I think tonight.) I liked the part where Moon Bloodgood killed the alien then put a bloody handprint on the tribute thing (shame she didn't smear it on God Girl's face.)
Umm, the rest...they sure killed Evil Doctor quickly. Like I thought he was going to be a major character but then he died out of nowhere and wasn't mentioned again. He sucked anyway, it was just weird.
God Girl is annoying as fuck. They should at least make her a slut or something to seem more interesting. At least Rape Girl didn't go to the baby shower.
The plinky piano music at the end was really annoying.
I take it Pope's going to show up and go "ya hooo!" and save them all like Han Solo next week then they'll say "thanks Pope, we're so happy we'll let you rape Maggie again!"
So the one tonight ended with the evil guy taking children to the aliens.
The cosiness, the sickening family friendlyness, of the show still annoys me. I blame all those people who complained about BSG being "too dark". The entire human race has just about been wiped out, of course the people are going to be full of despair! It's like Falling Skies is the happy version of BSG. Except BSG was actually good. All the "at least the kids aren't playing video games!" and "wouldn't the world be great if everyone was a Christian!" stuff is really grating. It SHOULD be dark and crazy. Instead there's good guys and completely one dimensional bad guys who want to give kids to aliens.
The normal kids should bully the harness kids, but then the harness kids get revenge by sticking metal in their backs. Rape Girl should have started feeling up Moon Bloodgood when she was teaching her to use a gun because she's sexuall damaged but Moon Bloogood doesn't tell anyone becasue she's secretly into it. The "I want to help, mister!" kid who suddnely appear this week (has he been in it before?) should have died. God Girl should become a slut in her despair and have a back-alley abortion. SOMETHING.
The last episode was the worst yet, which was compounded by me really looking forward to it because the penultimate had been above average and ramped up expectations.
I don't care if it comes back for a second season, which is saying something, as I usually love post-apocalyptic stories.
Yeah, the finale was a mess! All the characters seem so jarringly WRONG, it's liek the Hallmark Hall of Fame version of the apocalypse. If you don't know what that is wiki has an article, they're really sappy feel good movies (my gran loves them).
Weaver's face annoys me, Pope's face annoys me, Hal's face annoys me. They're all terrible!
Black Guy who gets no screentime and Asian Guy who gets no screentime should demand to do something important, and when the guy from ER says no they should ask "is it because I is black/asian?"
Pope saves the day! Like Han Solo but he's pro-rape! He's literally Sawyer in every way (but not as good and pro-rape.)
God Girl thought it would be appropriate to start playing some Jesus song on piano right after Black Harness Kid's father had died. The most annoying thing about it is that she's kind of hot.
Black Harness Kid is all "HUMANS KILL EACH OTHER, THE ALIENS DON'T." Even though the aliens, like, killed millions of people. Which you'd think would make them bad.
