Gay films that I recommend

This is a fantastically well thought out and prepared thread and I will watch them all later.

HENOCH IS BACK BITCHES!

These are scans from the "Aussiebum: The Story So Far" dvd. Not sure if this constitutes a gay related film, it is more of a behind the scenes shoot for the Aussiebum underwear brand. There are numerous male models in various states of undress. The scans below are funny because this particular shoot was done in Saigon & the photographers say they did not know they were breaking the law by shooting men in underwear on the streets. The funny parts are the looks on the peoples faces as they witness the photoshoot, some are smiling and others look as if they are in a state of disbelief/shock. :)Everyone left ASAP after this photoshoot out of fear of being arrested. LOL!!

This thread is awesome. But I don't want to say exactly why because I don't want to be attacked by Sausageman.
The only opinion you could express ITT that would offend me is saying that "gay cinema" is worth preserving as an art form. A good film is a good film regardless of if it has gays in it. A movie specifically conceived as a "gay movie", though, is probably going to be putrid.

(You can tell because "Another Gay Sequel" is being recommended by Henoch, even though I'd rather gouge my eyes out than see that pile again.)

They do have a certain atavistic quality, though - it's strikingly refreshing and comforting to watch movies with gay characters and relationships. Once that wears off, though, the films usually fail to stand on their own as quality works.

I said this thread is awesome. I didn't say anything about gay cinema.

I didn't watch any of these gay films because I never saw the straight films on which they're based.

(Also because I'm straight)

Not really a gay film but I like it.

What straight films are these gay films based on exactly? You have CUMfused me. Also, congratulations on being straight...your gift is in the mail, as well as your invite to heaven :)

PS: WTF?!!

I'm sure you'll get into Heaven before those judgemental religious bigots. Jesus told me you're cool even though you're a bit hyper at times.

So you thought there were NO gay films in the silent era? You would be wrong.

^^^Above are 2 films that have made it to dvd. I have watched both, the first was butchered beyond belief due to censorship at the time, the 2nd is 100% intact & in pristine condition.:)

^^^The censorship at the time was horrendous! It is surprising that we even have this wonderful surviving footage left.

An impassioned work of propaganda, later banned and burned by the Nazis. Commissioned by sexologist Magnus Hirschfield (who appears as himself), the film was a cry out against Germany's notorious "Paragraph 175," which slapped prison sentences upon thousands of homosexuals.
