how about a Canadian who longs to escape the perennial winter that covers the land since the White Witch put a spell on it 300 years ago so she builds a Time Machine and goes back 132 years or so and stops her ancestors from gettiing on the boat to Canada and instead makes them (at gunpoint as she's rather depserate by now) get on the boat to Hawaii, where they use their wood-carving skills to usurp the local boat & surf -board building trades and amass a huge fortune which never diminishes as surf-boards are always in demand so that by the the 21st century the Time Machine inventor is rich rich rich and sits around enjoying sunrises and sunsets, blue skies & painting lava floes and eating fresh pineapples. In warm, lush, verdant Hawaii.
