Yeah I was hoping they were going to do it as just a musical. They started off good with the Science Fiction Double Feature opening. Then it got ruined with all the Sue, Will/Emma/Carl stuff.

I keep hearing people say they were expecting the show to be just the musical, but I never thought that. I always figured it would be a behind-the-curtain story of them trying to put on the show at school.

I just expected the story to make sense, and that characters wouldn't behave counter to who they are, and for strange plot choices to appear out of the blue...WTF

And the "anticipation" scene seemed too rehearsed.

However, watched Raising Hope afterwards and laughed my ass off. Finally, Garrett Dillahunt not playing a sociopath!
