Heroes

Heroes really sucked last night!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I've tried to stick with Heroes, because I'm nothing if not loyal. I can take some corny dialogue from time to time. I can take characters who sometimes behave totally out of character once in a while. But the fucking thing that drives me up a wall is LAZY WRITING!! Fuck, I can't remember everything that was wrong with last night's ep, but here are a few lowlights:

-All of the main characters survive a horrific plane crash, and none of them have a scratch on them. WTF? The fucking plane was in pieces, with a crater the size of a an Olympic swimming pool, and everyone just walks away? Not to mention the fact that THEY WERE ALL FUCKING STRAPPED INTO THEIR SEATS. Did Peter or Mohinder free everyone off-camera?

-Parkman, Hiro, and Suresh jump down into a gully, and evade the highly-trained tactical squad BY HIDING AGAINST THE WALL OF THE RAVINE. Again, WTF? Like the soldiers wouldn't LOOK DOWN? Why not use this part to have Parkman "push" the soldier to see an empty ravine?

-Noah Bennett is once again a "bad guy". The writers can continue to use the excuse that he's trying to protect Claire, but this fucking guy flip-flops more than John Kerry at a waffle convention.

-"I don't even know who you are any more. Either of you". Oh good lord, really? This is some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard!

-Sylar defeats the soldiers, captures one, AND TAKES HIM TO THE HOUSE NEXT DOOR!! He's then able to torture the guy at his lesuire, until the kid & his mom get home. Really? There are cops all over the fucking place, and they A)Don't hear the soldier being tortured and B) Don't canvas the neighborhood, going door-to-door to get info? Not to mention the fact that Petrelli's goon squad was able to get to the plane mere moments after it crashed, they can't get to Sylar's site hours after he's dis[patched the soldiers??

-Peter convinces Traci to stand and fight with him, but when they're about to be captured, he absorbs Nathan's powers and flies away, leaving her to be captured and possibly tortured? Wow, what a "hero". No wonder he doesn't give a second thought to the chick he stranded in the future!!

Speaking of which...here's my biggest complaint about the lazy writing...major storylines are abandoned without any explanation just because they don't work. WTF happened to the Irish girl Peter trapped in the future? Where is Micah? His cousin who was a super-mimic? Where is Lyle, Claire's brother? When Claire decides to stay at home, her mom says, "the house would be empty without you". I guess her bro is chopped liver?

I know I'm getting worked up over a tv show, but it angers me because season one was very good. Now, it's just rubbish. The writing is lazy, there seems to be no direction or arc to the storyline, and characters change back and forth at a whim. Meh. It's doubtful that I'll watch the rest of the season, it's not worth my time.

Agree? Disagree??

REPOST OF A THREAD THAT LUCI JACKED UP

Haven't seen the second ep yet, but really, who would they have killed off? Other than TRacy, they were all safe anyway.

This first episode was pretty good. I liked the season oneish feel of it, although Peter getting in Mohinder's cab was a bit predictable. I don't understand Nathan's or Noah's motivations at all, though.

Maybe Nathan's dad jumped into his body before he died. Even though he has the opposite agenda as his father. Or it's just FOR THE PLOT.

Noah's motivation is a bit clearer now, but at the end they made it murky again, THOSE BASTARDS!

Not one whiny Claire scene in the whole episode!

Is that stupid chick with the plague powers still alive?

I think Peter's dad took her powers from her, and she's never been seen again.

Good! <wg>

Are they gonna round up the heroes from the first season? How do they even know how many people there are out there with powers? Just going by Noah's 30yrs of tracking them?

The second episode of 3.5 wasn't too bad. I was expecting it to be absolutely dreadful, but it was okay. Tracy should've asked Nathan to fly as proof he was alone.

I love how characters and plotlines just disappear with no explanation.

-where are Nathan's wife and kids?
-what happened to the Irish girl Peter trapped in the future?
-what happened to Micha and Nikki?

That's just for starters, there are a whole slew of things that were just dropped.

You know, one of the fucking coolest things about Buffy is that they could take a character that appeared in ONE episode in season one, and build a multi-episode arc around that character TWO SEASONS LATER. Remember Amy the rat?

Nobody gives a shit about the Irish girl.

-where are Nathan's wife and kids?
They're still divorced, I believe. She'd already left him and taken sole custody of the kids by the beginning of Season 2.
-what happened to the Irish girl Peter trapped in the future?
Shitty writing.
-what happened to Micha and Nikki?
Micah is probably Rebel, and Nikki is dead. Traci went to her funeral and met Micah.

OH.. I hope Micah is Rebel! That would be great!

I liked last night's episode, Exposed. Claire did not annoy me, and I'm really glad they're letting her mom stop being such a delicate little flower.

The stuff with Syler is a bit cheesy, but I liked it too.

We need a BBC pace thread...

Good idea! I've been trying to just comment on whether I like or didn't like the show and not get too spoilery. THE WORLD SHOULD BE ON THE SAME TV TIME!

Micah would be the logical person to be at least part of the rebellion, given the computer hacking stuff that happened in last nights episode.

Syler's sidekick was particularly annoying last night. I'm happy Syler got rid of him (permanently I hope). I'm not a fan of Syler either really.

Clair was not bad in this episode, although the bit at the end with the mom and daughter stuff at the end was a bit much.

LOL CLAYRE HAS NICE BOOBIES N STUFF!

Watched Monday's episode last night. Aside from some nice interaction between Claire and her Mom, this one was another dud.

-You CANNOT make a fake driver's licence by cutting the photo out of one and putting it over another. I don't know about your state but in California (where the Bennetts live), the picture on your license is an embedded computer picture. It's impossible to "cut and paste" an ID, and the damned sure aren't all laminated. Besides which, your picture resides on the DMV database. As soon as any LE official ran your license, they'd see the picture doesn't match. Nit-picky? NO! It's just another example of lazy writing!!!

-The trained government agents can't find Aqua-boy in Mom's hidey-hole, and the don't bother to look in the fucking pool! They wouldn't be looking for him unless they knew he had a power, and it's not like there's a way to "scan" for people with powers. Ergo, someone must have reported Aqua-Lad, so it stands to reason that they knew his powers. I mean, it's only logical that they would know, so they could be prepared. If they were sent to capture someone with super strength, wouldn't they know that, so they could bring the correct materiel? STUPID, LAZY, EXCUSE TO HAVE CLAIRE KISS THE DUDE.

-Let me get this straight: they use facial recognition softward, and can find Sylar from a traffic cam, but they can't tell that Peter and Matt ARE IN THIER FUCKING BUILDING??

Ugh...why do I watch this show any more??? I should just watch 24 when it airs.

Claire's character is like 17 right?

How old was Aqua boy? Given his "high school girl" comment in the episode? If they ended up having sex, he just committed a crime. Frankly, him kissing her was technically illegal assuming he is over 18.

Also...

Does Claire ever actually attend school? Apart from some episodes last season (I think) we never see her there. With her moving and doing all the Hero stuff, she would have to be behind.

Who needs school when you're immortal? Although, she's not truly immortal. It looks like she can drown. And she obviously ages at a normal rate. So I assume she's just impervious to harm or death from an unnatural source.
