Best. Show. Ever.

'Company Man' was brilliant. My fave genre show. Bar none.

It was pure class in a glass. Mr. Bennet has been one of my favourite characters from the start of the show and so I love episodes where he is centric to the story, but this one... wow.

Company Man was a heavy episode from start to finish and the ending was major. This show moves so fast it's insane.

Also.. Christopher Eccelston is the shizzle!

It totally pwns "Lost."

But now...who the hell was Christopher Eccleston hiding? You know that's gonna come up in a future episode.

I am thinking... Simone's dad (now deceased), the late patiarch of the Petrelli clan, Hiro's father (SULU!), Claire's dad's boss, and Linderman are all part of some secret consortium that is somehow responsible for what's going on.

There is a reason Hiro's dad was in Vegas, right? Surely it can't just be coincidence, and I don't know that Hiro let him know where he was.

Also, did anyone notice that in the flashback scene (in 'Company Man') when HRG met the Haitian for the first time, that the Haitian was wearing a charm that looked exactly the same as Jessica's shoulder tat? I bet the Haitian was involved in Jessica's "death" somehow.

The symbol turns up everywhere. He wears it as an adult as well.

I agree that Sulu (not going to be able to call him anything else) was not in Vegas solely to get Hiro back home. From the flashbacks in Company Man it's clear that he is in deep with whatever is happening and is in the top levels of whatever is going on. And is it just a coincidence that Hiro would have powers and his dad would be one of the big timers in this? - Doubtful.

And what is it about that roof. Events seem to gravitiate to it.

Here is the promo for the next episode:

Chapter 18 - "Like Any Parasite" - Monday, March 5th 2007 - 9/8c NBC
Nathan meets Linderman in person just before the election; Hiro goes for the sword again with dire consequences; Suresh makes a breakthrough on “the list”; another person with powers, Candice Wilmer, shows up.

We might finally get to see Linderman for the first time it seems. I wonder if that will be a reveal or a completley new character. Either way, he has been so integral to the story without even making an apperance that it is going to be a major plot point.

Yes, Linderman will be revealed. If next week's preview was to be believed, he is a white-haired older gent.

The roof is a key location, yes, as is New York, Las Vegas, and Texas.

Oh, and Peter Petrelli's THE man.

Any thoughts as to why "Sylar" removes the tops of the heads of his victims? What's he doing there? I mean, I know it's necessary for him to acquire their powers, but HOW?

Well, I assumed he was eating the brains or a least part of them. The powers seem to be localized to the brain since when Claire was dead with the tree branch sticking out of her head she couldn't regenerate until it was removed. And when Sylar was captured they had something drilled into his head to stop him using his powers as well. Maybe he has an ability that allows him to absorb the powers of others from the brain without eating them. The girl in the coffee shop who Hiro was in love with didn't have her brain removed by Sylar, he only took the top of her head off and was able to take her power anyway so that seems to point to him not having to eat brains or at least not all of them.

Peter seemed at first to have the most punked power of all with only being able to have the same ability as those who were near him. Now we know that he is the strongest of all since he can collect powers like Sylar just by being near another hero and then learning how to use it.

Yep...I loved it when Peter used all of his powers on the heroin artist.

But, when Hiro and Indo?? were in Vegas, who the hell stopped the bullett that Hope shot at them? Perhaps Indo has a power that hasn't manifested yet, at least that he's aware of...

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize it had been used so much, although my wife had mentioned it once before when she saw it used in a certain scene.

You're not the first person I've seen posit that theory. I never considered that, and really don't think that's the case.

When we were first presented with "Sylar's" origin, Gabriel was but a lowly watch repairer, and his original power allowed him to see how things worked, or know how they were "broken." Obviously, he used this ability to identify whatever it was that was different within the minds of other "Heroes." Being that he didn't have any other powers at the time, he is forced to kill his first victim (wasn't HE the telekinetic?) the old fashioned way, getting his hands dirty. And like a watch maker/repairer who must open up a watch to get to its inner workings, Sylar, too, needed to "open" his victims in order to access whatever it is about them that gives them these powers. HOW he actually GETS their powers, though, is a mystery. I suppose ingestion is a possibility...

And Peter's abilty is much more 'heroic,' being that he doesn't steal the lives of other characters when he nicks their powers.

They're both stacking up an impressive resume of powers, but I still think Peter's got the edge on Sylar with Claire's regeneration, Nathan's flight, Hiro's timebending abilities, Claude's invisibility, and Ned's explosive capabilities AND he can see into the future a la Isaac's powers. OH, and he can read the mind of others, via Matt Parkman. (Granted, Peter hasn't even begun to access most of these yet. And assuming he ever will be able to.)

And HRG sacrificing himself for Claire's survival/wellbeing, being mindwiped in order that he can NEVER reveal what he knows, has been of the most heroic moments so far. The reveals in the last episode were many, and we were rewarded with as many answers as we were with NEW questions.

I am consistently impressed by how much they can cram into a single hour considering the scope, breadth, mythology, and cast of this series.

That's some deep shit about the clock/repair stuff up there.......

I assumed it was Hiro who stopped the bullet. It seemed that way to me, but you may be right. I hadn't thought of the possibility that Ando has a power as well. Speaking of which, everyone yaps on about how great Hiro is (and he is) but I like Ando equally as much. They're definitley a tag-team event and I hope that when Hiro told Ando to go home and continued on his own (OMG STAN LEE AS BUS DRIVER!) that it won't stick and we won't see Ando again or he will be relegated to a very small role. That would suck, frankly. I will be royally pissed if they write him out of the show. It was awesome when he reversed it and started giving Hiro all the lines that he is usually subjected to.

There are some theories about Ando's possible powers here:

http://heroeswiki.com/Theories:People#Ando_Masahashi

Heroeswiki has become as important as Lostpedia as a source to keep track of everything at once.

Hiro is definitely starting to lose his wide-eyed optimism and exuberance as he is confronted with the gravity/tragedy of the situation.

He is becoming the Hiro we saw in the subway who spoke with Peter towards the beginning of the season.

And I canNOT wait for him to confront the dinosaur!

Also, I don't believe Ando has powers. He's a great character, provides balance, but I think that'd be a bit much.

We KNOW Hiro can reverse time... he did it waaaay back in the first episode.

Yeah, he definitley has an insight in to how the powers manifest and obviously to the point of being able to manipulate them and integrate them into himself. How he does it is just speculation but we at least know that it has "something" to do with the brains of his victims.

I called HRG as a good guy when they were still portraying him as the big bad at the start of the series and his sacrifice was epic at the end of Company Man. The monkier "Heroes" doesn't just apply to those with abilites, fo' sure.

Peter has the most pimped out powers compared to Sylar but as of now Sylar is way more adept at using his abilites. That showdown is coming our way at the end of the season though, you just know it :D

At first I thought Peter's powers would be a rip-off of Rogue's, but they did so much better.

True, in the comics, there was a time when Rogue could call on all her abilities at will, making her virtually unstoppable. But then it was taken away from her.

Still, Peter can touch people and hot harm them, whereas that was Rogue's original power.

This girl shall now put her geekiness back in the bottle. ;)

Eric & Siggy continued, “Another theory - is there more to the Haitian's powers than we've seen? Sylar ran away from him. I don't think he can negate every power, just ones involving the mind (persuasion, telepathy) - but maybe he can cause physical pain in someone's head?” Is there more to the Haitian than we know thus far?

Lots and lots more. Not only in regards to his powers either. That Haitain has lots of magic up his proverbial sleeves.

Interesting. When the Hatiain didn't take Claire's memories it was clear that he was more than just a hired hand. He seems to be involved in something else outside the Company. It may correlate to what Claude said about no longer trusting and accepting what the Company was doing. We will find out more about that soon though since he is now on the road with Claire.

Spin that geek bottle, Tis!

A lot of these characters' powers can be compared to a lot of different comic book characters and plots, but as a longtime comic book reader I am VERY impressed in the shows ability to tweak things in an interesting manner and take things down new, unexplored paths and tangents. And where Smallville failed (IMO) in that it just CRAWLED along, Heroes kicks ass on a weekly basis. I never feel cheated, or that enough isn't being done to develop the plot or characters. This is a ride I am more than content to just enjoy for what it is.

The Haitian - once presented as trying to trick viewers into thinking he might be Sylar - is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters at this point.

One question, though... being that he (the Haitian) IS known by The Company, doesn't he have the radioactive isotope in his bloodstream as well? Speculation is that the ones who have been bagged and tagged can be tracked by The Company.

And who the hell called Eric Roberts, btw, in the last episode, to HRG's house? Was he tracking Matt and Ned, realized where they were and got involved?

Oh God, I've been watching Smallville for the entire six years it's been on telly, and while I still watch it begrudgingly, and sometimes even enjoy an episode or two, it's just wrong to mention Smallville and Heroes in the same sentence. Smallville is still churning out shit like retarded tree aliens and other contrived crap in its sixth year.

Heroes is 17 episodes old. That makes it all the more impressive. Every single episode has either been very good or phenomenal. And considering where we are in the story compared to where we started you have to roll your eyes at a show -albeit great- like Lost that moves at the pace of an asthmatic sloth.

And likewise, I'm very impressed how much it has been able to cast off the cloak of the obvious X-Men comparisons and build it's own tone and feel totally independant of anything else despite having those common themes.
