How bout those Cowboys!

50 NFL players who could get contract extensions before training camp

The Cowboys know that if they let Amari Cooper play out this year on the option and franchise him next year, they'd be paying him more than $31 million guaranteed over two seasons.

Dak Prescott, a former fourth-round pick, is set to earn $2.025 million in this, the final year of his rookie contract. You don't have to follow the league closely to know that number is a tad low for a starting quarterback.

Will the Cowboys extend Ezekiel Elliott before the start of the season?

The Cowboys signed fullback Ryan Yurachek, who spent last season in Oakland's practice squad and was released in May following knee surgery. To make room for Yurachek, linebacker Justin Phillips was waived. The Cowboys now have two fullbacks on the 90-man roster with Jamize Olawale and Yurachek.

Cowboys, Ezekiel Elliott go on as if it's business as usual
Dallas signs RB Alfred Morris. Ezekiel Elliott heads to Mexico. Jerry Jones claims a rushing champ isn't essential. All sides are engaged in the dance. Jerry Jones does not concern himself with getting a deal done with Ezekiel Elliott – "When have I ever not done one? Jones said – or how long the running back's holdout may last. "I don't see a point (of concern) months into the season." Jones is holding firm to his belief the deal has to be the right one for the team. "Certainly individually they want to certainly be recognized when it comes to the money," he said, "but on the other hand it's got to fit our plan or it doesn't work with our house and our house falls."

Cowboys' camp notes: Welcome back, Jason Witten. He caught two touchdown passes in red-zone drills. He was open on a double-move to the post and later lined up wide Dak Prescott found Witten for a one-handed touchdown with LB Joe Thomas in coverage … Prescott completed 14 of 22 passes in team and seven-on-seven drills and is now 50 of 73 for training camp. In individual drills, his accuracy was off but he got better as the day went on. His best decision may have been on a throw away when under pressure. He also ran for a touchdown on a bootleg … LB Leighton Vander Esch was active. He beat RB Darius Jackson to the edge on a wide zone run. He and S Jeff Heath quickly got to Jackson on a swing pass … NT Antwaun Woods wrecked the third play of play-action drills, bulling his way by Xavier Su'a-Filo and then colliding with Witten … S Kavon Frazier was able to come down with an interception on a fade throw from Cooper Rush to TE Blake Jarwin. Earlier, he made a nice read on a Tony Pollard run … LB Justin March-Lillard was beat for touchdowns on back to back plays by Jarwin and Pollard.
