How off season moves changed the NFC East for Commander, Cowboys, Eagles, Giants
The poor, poor NFC East. Nobody takes it seriously these days. Gone is the NFC Beast moniker. Aside from the AFC South, it's likely the worst division in the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys dominated the division last season, going 6-0 on their way to a 12-5 record. The Philadelphia Eagles were a 9-8 wild-card team under first-year coach Nick Sirianni. The Washington Commanders faded to a 7-10 record and the New York Giants, well, stunk with a 4-13 finish.

Rayfield Wright, Hall of Famer and Dallas Cowboys legend, dies at 76

Rayfield Wright, the Pro Football Hall of Fame offensive tackle nicknamed "Big Cat" who went to five Super Bowls in his 13 NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, died Thursday. He was 76. Wright's family confirmed his death Thursday to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, which said Wright had been hospitalized for several days following a severe seizure. The Cowboys also confirmed the death. Dallas never had a losing record in Wright's 13 seasons, a span that included eight NFC Championship Games and those five Super Bowl appearances. He was part of the NFL's all-decade team for the 1970s. A big player for his era at 6-foot-6 and over 250 pounds, Wright had already been a backup tight end for a couple of seasons when coach Tom Landry asked him about playing tackle. A surprised Wright said he had never played tackle in his life, but Landry told him he would make a good one.

Dallas Cowboys seal partnership with cryptocurrency platform Blockchain.com

The Dallas Cowboys became the first NFL team to add a digital currency platform as a sponsor Wednesday, agreeing to a long-term deal with Blockchain.com. While fans will not yet be allowed to use cryptocurrency at AT&T Stadium, they will have the opportunity to earn exclusive fan experiences that include trips to away games and events hosted by players. At the recent owners' meetings in Palm Beach, Florida, the league said it would allow teams to begin sponsorship deals with crypto companies. Being the first into a new medium is not new to Jones. In 2018, the Cowboys became the first team to partner with a casino, joining forces with WinStar Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

Dallas Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz says healthy Dak Prescott big for team's offseason development

A year ago, Can Prescott was in the middle of a rigorous rehab from a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle suffered in Week 5 of the 2020 season. While the Dallas Cowboys' offseason program officially started Monday, Prescott has already gotten plenty of work with his skill players. Fully recovered from offseason surgery to his left (non-throwing) shoulder, Prescott has held numerous throwing sessions. For Schultz, the offseason began by him signing the $10.9 million franchise tag, a big bump after making roughly $4.4 million his first four seasons, but he would like to work out a multiyear agreement. In 2021, Schultz joined Jason Witten as the only tight ends in team history to record at least 70 catches for 800 yards and eight touchdowns in the same season, finishing with 78 receptions for 808 yards and eight touchdowns.

NFL draft: Which teams have gotten the best value since 2012? We rank all 32

No team has gotten more value out of the NFL draft over the past decade than the Seattle Seahawks, thanks to an elite 2012 class and no team has drafted less value than the New York Jets, according to our study of the last 10 drafts. To evaluate the players taken in each of the past 10 NFL drafts (2012-2021), we used Approximate Value (AV) -- Pro Football Reference's method of measuring the performance of every NFL player. We took each player's career AV and measured it against a value based on where that player was taken in the NFL draft -- we're calling it Career Approximate Value Over Expected (CAVOE).

After a call from Dak Prescott, receiver Jalen Tolbert had a feeling he'd be a Cowboy

When Jalen Tolbert answered the phone a few days ago, he figured it was somebody from the Dallas Cowboysconfirming his number in case they picked him in the NFL draft.Turns out it was Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The Cowboys considered Tolbert in the second round before selecting Ole Miss pass-rusher Sam Williams. They were happy to see him available in the third round. He caught 82 passes for 1,474 yards and eight touchdowns last season, including a seven-catch, 143-yard effort against Tennessee. The Cowboys had a wide receiver need after trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns and losing Cedrick Wilson in free agency to the Miami Dolphins.
