I ate soup for breakfast today

Dear lord man - Pumpkin? Chicken and corn? Gazpacho? Tomato w/ a dollop of sour cream and finely diced chives? Lobster bisque w/ whiskey cream foam? We need details!
I assume you had croutons in the soup for your wife to mistake it for cereal. Otherwise, I suggest an upgrade.
Fun fact: In medieval Eastern European societies, it was commonplace for soup to be served for breakfast. They made it in large batches when crops and kill were plentiful. An elaborate storage system was developed using air-tight wooden containers stored at the bottom of lake beds (the cool water helped preserve the soup). Each morning, the men would use a pulley system to dredge the containers up from the bottom of the lake. They would then ladle out the soup needed to start the day and return with it to the village, where the women would heat it up.
I believe a great many died of food poisoning. So, if you are going to have pre-cooked soup for breakfast - keep it stored in the fridge, friend (and not the bottom of a lake).
