I haven't mentioned WF in literally MONTHS.

Actual current WF threads:

OMG! Trump's budget obeys the Constitution!

and

Venezuelan tells Fox News that AOC would be almost a moderate on the Venezuelan political spectrum.

So yeah. Anc is upset because Trump cut $15million for "Stars & Stripes". In his own link, it points out "Stars & Stripes," Constitutionally, CANNOT be funded by tax dollars. So yeah. I'm not sure if he's upset about Trump obeying the Constitution, cutting military funding, or both. That's the Bizzarro world WF has become.

Oh, naturally. I'm just amused. Because while Lefties aren't real big on the Constitution, they'd still cream at the idea of a President cutting military spending. Except...Trump.

I almost posted that over there. But it would be pointless.

I mean, it would make them cry and shit their pants. But they're already doing that. The only difference is that now it would somehow be my fault that they cried and shit their pants because I pointed out that they had. And I'd probably also be a Nazi.

And I'd probably also be a Nazi.

Or some other variety of -ist or -phobe, certainly. They got a million of those, and if you happen not to tick any of the existing boxes, they'll just shoehorn you in anyway and then gaslight ya, like so: "Well, if you're too dumb to know that you are, it's beneath me to explain it to you, hmph!"

Just read it myself, and I hate to say it, but even Anc falls into the "stopped clock, twice a day" trope on this one. It actually doesn't say S&S can't be funded by tax dollars in that article.

TIME reporter Mark Thompson hints at it -- in an extremely stealthy and roundabout way, see here -- but that's as much as I could find before I get back to work on a hard-deadline piece. I'll come back to this later.

TL;DR: Volpone is probably right, but Ancuckagon may have him on a very thin nitpick in this very very specific instance.

[shrug] I don't read your links. They're usually garbage sources. Or they use creative weasel words to make things say exactly the opposite of reality. That said, your post was: "...It’s congressionally mandated to be independent ..." So, given that the Constitution gives Congress "the power of the purse," for our President to ignore Congress' criteria would maybe not strictly be...my wording wasn't ideal, but my point stands. If Trump *hadn't* cut that line item you'd be howling about how Trump just ignores Congress and thinks he can do whatever he wants. Heads you win, tails I lose.

Did any of you watch that complete dumpster fire called the Nevada Democratic Debate last night? Every single democratic candidate on stage has gone insane, just completely barking at the moon mad, including the Billionaire former Republican who bought his way onto stage by being the single largest donor to the Democratic Party from 2013-2020. I warned Leftforge the Dems were going to lose to Trump again unless they stopped being so extreme and moved back to the center but they just kept saying Dems needed to become more extreme and move further away from the average voter.

Now we are seeing total registrations of people in the Democratic Party down 4% since 2016, Republicans up 3% and independents up 2%. The youth vote, which leftforge always claimed would save them, is down across the board and minority voters are also down so far in the primaries. Meanwhile Trump has gotten a post impeachment bump just like Clinton did and has his highest approval ratings ever. The Dems are sinking, man, and it is beginning to look a lot like 1984.

1984, you say? [marathon]

But yeah, that's what happens when you stick yourself in an echo chamber and run off anyone who challenges your perceptions. And the cognitive dissonance builds as you get crazier and crazier with constructions to prove you're right and the world is wrong. Before you know it, these moonbats are going to be driving minivans into GOP voter registration tents.

Post-2016, they absolutely refused to learn. Think they'll learn this year? I don't. I think they'll only double down yet again. Turn out the lights, folks, the Democrat Party is over.

There is precedence that the hard left refuses to learn from electoral drubbings. Look at Labor in the UK, they went extreme left, bro-Communist, woke, and anti-white people (even anti-UK which is the country they wanted to run) and... Thry has the worst election results in around 100 years losing seats which hadn’t voted Tory in a century. It was the single most lop sided election defeat in modern British history.

Yet Labor fanatics are still rationalizing and refusing to change anything despite the massive and absolutely unprecedented defeat. They are insisting no policies or positions be changed. They sound a lot like labor in the late 1970’s through early 1990’s who refused to change and then got locked out of power for two decades because of it. They basically had to wait for the old socialists who wanted to nationalize everything died and then rebrand the party under Blair so it was completely different in every way, shape, and form. But it took them 20 years straight of losing before the extremists would admit that was necessary. They lost even worse this time (historically the worst lose) yet they are once again claiming they shouldn’t change a thing.

Dems have been doing this since 2016 and they are getting even worse in 2020. I suspect Dems will also need a decade or more in the wilderness before they accept major changes are needed.

Next time click the link and you won’t look like a moron.

Independent in editorial stance, not independently funded.

Worked in 2018.

For all the good it did, seeing as the only thing they're doing with their majority in the lower chamber is obsessing over Orange Man. Reckon the voters are gonna reward 'em for that? If you do, I'd like to interest you in a line from Raymond Chandler:

"Haw." the man said. "A gut-buster. A comedian. Wait'll I loosen my belt."

So are you saying you lied in saying congress said Stars & Stripes couldn't get tax dollars or that you didn't know what you were talking about when you created the thread?

It really isn't the smartest idea to call someone a moron because they assumed you knew what you were talking about.

In future I'll know to not only ignore the garbage links you always post but also to ignore the garbage that you always post.

Actually, I already knew that. That's why I'm laughing about your goofy ass over here instead of trying to reason with you over there. :)

Speaking of which, I love your post about how great it is that US companies are kowtowing to EU socialists and how Boeing may stop stealing from the poooor Washington taxpayers by keeping some of the money they earned instead of giving it to your idiot government to flush down the toilet on clean heroin shooting galleries and whatnot. :)
