I want to smell dark matter
I miss interacting with the posters known as Mentalist (usually affectionately shortened to "Menty") on this message board in the manner we interacted from around 2004 to 2010/11 (I'm not good at remembering years but this seems about right?)
I shared a number of interests with Menty and always enjoyed discussing them with him. I miss the feelings I would experience with those interactions.
I will always feel frustration when posting a topic that I knew would have once had Mentalist replying to it, be that something to do with Neil Gaiman or Dave from Eggheads being shit compared to CJ or Alan Partridge or wrestling or the death of a British celebrity who Menty had met (even Thatcher!?) or Russell Brand or grubby apples or any number of other areas of discussion. The frustration comes from knowing that there is literally almost no chance Mentalist will read or reply to the topic.
This is not an attack on Mentalist. I do not "hate" him, I don't think he has "sold out" to "WCW". This is not an attempt to make him feel guilty. It is not an attempt to trick him into posting again. I appreciate (as I'm sure we all do) that he still pays the bills and is responsible for this board's continued existence.
I merely wanted to exrpess how I feel in simple terms rather than another "IF MENTY DOESN'T REPLY TO THIS THREAD I'LL CHOP OFF ONE OF TOMTREK'S FINGERS" type thread as sometimes it's important to be honest and none of us are going to live forever and we don't know when our last chance to express ourself has passed. And Tomtrek doesn't have any fingers left.
