I think I'm going to have a go at recreating the accident at Heathrow

In Flight Simulator X. I fly a LOT in FSX and read a huge amount about aviation procedures and the like. I am going to set both engines to fail in a 777 (massively odd) 2 miles from Heathrow at 600ft and see if I can glide it in the same way.

Probably not.

I love crashing jumbo jets into skyscrapers while playing GTA: San Andreas

When do you get to fly a jumbo in san andreas?

Closest I get is a lear jet.

Shit just got serious..

there's one in the hanger in Las Vega...I mean Venturas airport

The engines are on fire.

I had a dream about a plane crash the night before that crash. COINCIDENCE?

I was reading an article on Bobby Fisher and trying out some of his Chess routines two days ago and then he died.

I did it...barely. Screenshots to follow.

Please look up something about Bill Oddie on Wikipedia. He must be stopped.

I was cutting Princess Diana's brakes right before the crash lol ogm.

I still send flowers to Abe Vigoda every day. I'm still waiting.

OK... here goes.

Making the scheduled ATC vectored turn on to Heathrow about 60nm out:

Complete engine failure. I'm above the glide slope here (as you can note from the 4 white lights next to the runway. I am now basically a glider. Flaps are at 30 degrees KIAS 180.

First engine blows into flames. Fun times.

Second engine follows suit. Plane banks to the left and becomes increasingly difficult to control. I cut fuel to both engines and decide to use full rudder deviation to correct the drift. (an extreme version of a crosswind landing)

I line the aircraft up some more and manage to touch her down on the right main gear. As soon as the gear is touched I deviate the rudder again to pull the nose on to the center line.

Speed brakes on (no reverse thrust since the engines are FUBAR.)

Full stop, airframe intact and every little sim passenger alive. Woot.
