I wanted more stories where Death was young...

I actually think Avril Lavigne would look perfect for the role, but I hate it when untalented people get cast just because of their looks. What about this girl from Dead like me, Ellen Muth? Make her a gothic and she could pull it off. (Not that she's a stellar actress, but I bet 100% better than Avril Lavigne!)
 
Blessed would have been good as Destruction if he was younger. Although Blessed's personality is nothing like Destruction's. I GUESS THAT'S WHERE ACTING WOULD COME IN THOUGH.

I find it really hard to imagine them pulling off a decent Sandman movie though but I guess it would at least be better than the abysmal Constantine.
