Menty, seriously? If I knew your stance on this matter, I wouldn't have bothered in the first place. What I know is what is written in the rules, and what you said in connection with the Blackfoot incident. That's far from knowing your general stance on this.

And that case would be what? I always thought this place prides itself in NOT being as all those other mb's out there with admins and board owners who get to decide what constitutes dribble and what doesn't? Once again, I see the problem when the spamming causes server issues, but otherwise? Are you telling me that it all boils down to 'if Menty/the admins think my posts are dribble, I'm fucked?
 
Why is daycare such a big deal now? If someone else let Aquehonga out of dc would it be a big deal?

The big deal, at least for me, is the fact that I still believe in trolling as a means to fight against bigotry, hierarchical structures and stuff like that. So you can imagine my frustration when I see that the people who post on a mb that claims to be the kingdom of trolls do the same thing as their initial targets, namely using their 'powers' to effectively shut up people who they deem annoying without so much as calling a spade a spade in the Rules. That's what bugs me. It's not about the spamming and daycaring as much as about the fact that it isn't a big deal for people to getting restricted to one forum because they annoy others.
 
Oh, no I meant why does daycare seem to be such a big deal to the admins. They seemed to be much more laid back about it in the past. It was sort of a joke when someone got dc'd.

Actually, that's not correct. Badlands were originally created to contain The Ranters IIRC. What it evolved into was quite different, but it's original inception was not for spam.

That's King Asshole Pickles fault, IMO.

Nope, I happen to agree with you. I'm just making sure that the fearless leader and owner is OK with Admins turning this place into their own personal Lord of The Flies. So far it seems that way.

I'll have to do some digging later for the links and the threads but I'm 99.9% sure it was either late last year or earlier this year someone mentioned that the Badlands was created as a spam dump for the Mine Field. Not to defend Pickle but I think the Badlands was way spammy before Pickle even joined. If anything he worsened the situation.

Ranters came later. I thought it was about big boards or something-trying to get a million posts so "spamming" was allowed.

Then the Ranters came, then DLA, the forum name changes and soon pickle comes along, then spamstition, then pickle is gone, then spamstitution is gone, now it is.

Hmmm...You may be right. My memory of past events is fuzzy. I joined TK in August 2004 and spent several months in DC before realizing I needed to ask to be let out. Then from 2005- August 2008 I had little to no internet access because I was sharing a computer with family members. August 2008 is when I got my laptop and began posting with any regularity so I'll take it that your recollection of events might be more accurate than mine.
