i agree with ily 100% with this. If I wasn't away on business, I would spam the fuck out of this place until I got DC'd.

Looks like Menty is a little too afraid of pissing off his new mods. That's what was best about MM, no matter what happened, she would always let me back in, even over her mods objections.

Day Care is a just fine place. People can still post there, and at this point in time it pretty much carries the same amount of relevance as Speak Freely, the only difference being that posts in DC don't count for your post-count total. That wasn't clear at all but most of you can figure out the gist. Oh, and coding is turned off. Big fucking deal.

No, I am actually one of the "do fuck all" admins, and have stated so publically more than once. I act when called upon to act. I don't go scanning SF for trouble every day. I barely have a grasp on who-is-doing-what-to-who-behind-which-dual around here. (Although, memo to the current batch of festering idiots, it doesn't take that long to get caught up.) I'm not even a troll.

I'm here because I'm the kind of person that an owner of a troll board can trust not to wreck, destabilize, or delete the place given the chance. However, beyond my affection for my own particular forum of choice, I'm rather lazy. Such is the price of trust.

Having said that, I believe there is an art to being a great TK admin. I dont know that any admin in our history other than missmanners has truly displayed the full range of talents. Everyone else has either been too earnest, too reckless, too overwrought, too eager, too in love with themselves, too lazy, or too bitter. missmanners is the only one who has been incredibly effective without having to show her hand. Much can be learned from her. Unless you're lazy like me. :D

I know this is directed at mm, but I still want to ask you:

Do you think it was easy for me to post this and seemingly go against you (or Conchaga a few months ago) in order to what looks like defending scum like Lucy or Blackfoot? Do you think I am doing this to troll, or that I get anything out of this besides pissing off people I really like?

I considered doing this by pm, you know, so it wouldn't look like I singled you out or something. But fact is - my initial post wasn't directed at you specifically.

I've seen some actions done by admins, and I've seen the general membership being apathetic to it. My Don-Quixote / Mother Theresa persona took over, and I decided to say something. (I'd do that in RL, too, but my lazyness and overall opinion that humanity deserves to be fucked with usually wins in my battle of characters). Frankly, I have no idea who did exactly what to which poster. I've seen what I took to be a general tendency to solve problems with annoying posters by just daycaring them, and I still don't think that's ok.

I don't give a fuck if it has always been done like that or not. There's no rule anywhere that says we can't change a habit.

I think what I intended most with my initial post was to make those interested in TK at all to think about it, and to not just stand by and watch, myself.

Just wanted you to know.

Two points....

1. It's not up to me now, but I will make my opinion known.

2. It's not about doing nothing. It's about being so stealthy about it that no one really sees moderation going on. It's the visible moderation that "upsets" people. It's admins who declare in public they are going to harass someone and then do it.

Luci is a jackass, and there is NOTHING wrong with keeping QSF cleaned out now. But in the other forums, if he's not breaking the rules, he has just as much right to show himself as a jackass as anyone else. If people are bothered by his nazi hate speech act, then they better be bothered by everyone elses nigger hate speech.... or whatever the hate speech du jour is.

Expecting staff to treat a few select threads differently is making us jump thru hoops and I dont play that game. You of course can if you want to, but then you get threads like this started by people who arent the usual suspects
but are not happy with the way things are going.

How much bitchier do I have to get before I get a spanking?

OK, this is maybe the dumbest thing I've posted so far, but...
didn't I post this thread in QSF initially? I know I wanted to, so have I just pressed the wrong button, or has the thread been moved? *seriously starts questioning her short term memory*
