Identify this:

I can post some clues if you all want me to.
 
It sounds like a triangle (musical instrument) or perhaps a windchime, a wooden clacker and a gourd drum with beads inside - a drum shaker. Sounds like a band of homemade instruments.
 
My guess is also a kind of chime, but then we had a 'warmer' on the Jew's Harp which is a totally different kind of instrument.
 
It's triangular, and only similar to the Jew's Harp in terms of size. As far as I know, it's the only one of its kind, but it has a specific name and was designed by a person known for creative things like that.

The only one I can think of who played creative things was Frank Zappa, but he was into playing "cars" and "bicycles", I can't think of anything small.

Earlier than Frank Zappa.

Kind of parallel to Sun Ra in several ways.

It's similar to a Kanonaki or a Qanun, but it's played with a mallet.

Can't figure it out.

Is it an "Oo"?

In a search for new sounds, Moondog also invented several musical instruments, including a small triangular-shaped harp known as the "Oo", another which he named the "Ooo-ya-tsu", and (perhaps his most well-known) the "Trimba", a triangular percussion instrument that the composer invented in the late 40s.

I'm pretty sure neither was a "hit"; both feature actors that are household names.

I saw the first one in a matinee when I was a pre-teen. The second was just a bit before my time --caught it later on some Saturday afternoon TV movie feature. Both didn't hold up that well when I watched them again decades later, but they have a place in my bleak little heart nonetheless.
