IF archiving had to happen in the MF, what should be archived?

Archived posts won't dock post counts, no.
 
If the archived posts are moved to their own board it will. Which is under discussion. Just sayin'.

I only posted it yesterday so I think that's a bit soon for archiving! I also archived every thing of the day below thing+120 but I think I might have accidently archived some newer ones.
 
Done. Also moved one from the other day back as well. I don't think we need to be quite that hardcore with them.

Also, does Gagh's "18th/21st Birthday" thread have 100,000 views because of a trick, or because the world is finding the hotlinked pic of tattooed boobies while doing searches? If so, isn't that a server drain, and would archiving it or re-sourcing the pic help the overall goal?

I thought there was a chance of the Lie In This Thread being bumped again, since it was a fun-packed thread!

The Summerteeth thread I don't suppose anyone will be replying to, but it's quite recent. I haven't touched anything from 2007 (or much from 2006) yet, other than all my "creative" stuff.

Gagh refreshed the 18/21 thread himself I think...I wouldn't want to archive it without checking with you all first since it's the kind of thing we'll bump every few years to laugh at.

Laker Girl you are my hero!!!!etc will be archived over my dead body, for similar reasons!
 
Oh I agree about the Laker Girl thread, that's why I only brought up the 2 threads that I did. The rest are pure MF gold.
 
My 18/21 Birthday thread is a long standing Bumparoo. I'd hate to see it go.

I can't remember my Post Count before this started, but it was around 133,300.
 
I'm looking through 2005...and I can't do it anymore! They're all good threads (mostly, and having gotten rid of all the 0-4 reply spam/troll attempt ones).
 
You did a good job. We shouldn't cut anymore until we see what the Badlands can do, they still have to do their major cutting.
 
A lot of the threads I DID archive could probably be deleted and nobody would miss them or notice...but that's for another day. A LONG DAY AWAY.

The idea of "tidying up" the Mine Field certainly appeals to my OCD sensibilities, so I actually quite enjoy doing it. I might look through some of the newer less-than-five-replies threads and see if there's room for pruning some of 'em.

I'm not sure everyone is on the same page with this issue yet.

What will happen is that all of TK will be copied over to an SMF board and that will be the archive board. The SMF board could then be locked and left as is or the active forums on TK now could be removed from the SMF board just leaving our archives section. With that done we could remove whatever we wanted. I assume what will be removed will be just the archived stuff.

So what I'm saying is that yes we'll lose a lot more posts after the board is archived, upgraded and brought back up.

If I get the chance I'll go through Badlands myself and start moving stuff. There's a lot of old Speak Freely threads in there that should be moved to the archived section as well.
 
Would anyone mind if I deleted the valuable contributions made by Dopeman, Speck, Necromancer and ZOMBIE TECHMAN?
