This was Gear's MO back in the day. If he could make a board fail he would. That was why he started so many that then busted up.

He met his match at TK though.
 
The electrons that used to be 'Gear are out floating through various lifeforms, now. One day they'll reconvene in a new brain, all back together to form a 'Gear again.

But, thankfully, probably not for a very, very long while yet.

On a related note, I don't believe they were able to upload Steve Jobs' consciousness to The Internet, but if a credible source had evidence that it happened, I would totally believe it. "...we have the technology..."
 
Oh, I agree. I'd never say it myself. But if someone said "Hey! We learned some new stuff. FOIA, etc..." I wouldn't call them a crackpot outright.
