I've decided that I'm voting for Obama.

Bob Barr apologized for authoring the DOMA, but I'm still not sure I can trust him.
Indeed. He had to do such a 180 on several issues he holds dear to his heart just to get the party's nomination. There's nothing to stop him from flipping again. He really whored himself to get on a ticket.

I voted for him. But I'm troubled. I didn't feel 100% on any of the presidential candidates. After reviewing, it was either him or Obama. Perhaps I should have voted for Obama. We'll see after the results are tallied.

I have looked at the websites of many news outlets, and once again the NY Times will be where I follow the race. (with PBS on in the background) I prefer their decision not to use exit polls to predict winners, and the county breakdowns are most useful. I do not prefer their new layout; the 2004 utility was exactly what I wanted and this will be more inconvenient as I will have to click through several tabs to get all of the info I want.

It is early, but so far Obama isn't doing too poorly in KY. That will probably change as more results are posted. McCain is leading by less than 10% right now, and that is thanks to Jefferson Co. This is probably due to the fact that KY has a slight preference for voting Democrats into public office

Sensationalist media shooting for the race card. Two days ago that would've been fine. However, now that he's prez that shit won't fly.

Decisive victory for Obama. Not a landslide but definitely a mandate. Let's watch who he appoints and his first 100 days for the followthrough...in the meantime I'll enjoy the honeymoon*

Voting in NY for the first time was cool. I had the day off so when I went in the afternoon there were quite a few people but pretty much no line. I like the old, clunky refrigerator-sized voting machines with the tabs and the big metal lever you clunk over at the start & finish like you're operating a carnival ride.

If they ever get their shit together and use a single voting-machine manufacturer for the whole nation, they should use these things. Smaller & more complex has been the trend in technology ever since...well...the advent of technology...but each innovation brings a new way it can be screwed up if one deliberately wants to do so. Keeping it big, clunky & stupid, with mechanics so simple that a layman can be taught every aspect of maintenance & repair in a weekend, and no moving parts smaller than a fingernail and with parts & such repairmen onhand at every site would bring the generation of voting-machine hacking & hanging chads to a grinding halt. It wouldn't solve every concern, but it'd be one very stupid, aggravating thing we wouldn't have to worry about.

*Although I think Laker_Girl may have been right, Eggs: Before, I was only mildly concerned that someone might take a shot at him. Now that he actually has the word "President" attached to his name, I'm convinced it'll push at least a few of those seriously thinking about it right over the edge. Wonder how much coffee the Secret Service is mainlining these days...

Let me also add that Obama's speech was stirring, which we've come to expect --but McCain's concession speech was excellent. I only cringed when he set up Palin for 2012, which of course he had to do.

Yeah, I was impressed with McCain's speech. He's a decent guy, too bad he didn't get the Republican nomination 8yrs ago. I desperately hope Palin's political career fizzles out. We don't need people that uneducated running the show.

She's got plenty of time to let her daughters run wild getting knocked up at least three times before then. She'll have to take time off from doing her Gubernatorial duties to help raise all those illegitimate grandchildren. Then we'll see how pro-life she really is.
