Karma Kabal

I meant remove the Karma function from your individual profile altogether. There must be a hack to do it, as you can control via the AdminCP who can use it or not.
I think the best I can do is stick you in the NoKarma group so you can't hand out karma and turn off your ability to display the amount of karma you have. Members would still be able to karma you I think but it wouldn't really matter anyway.

I'm not sure what restrictions there are in the NoKarma group. You might lose Arcade privileges and possibly even PMs but I'm not sure.

Edit: I just checked you lose the arcade but you still get to keep PMs.

OK Done but your karma level is still being displayed. I assume it's because the usergroup is set to override other permissions.

Right:

You keep your PMs.
You lose the ability to hand out Karma (obviously).
Your points total still remains in the CP, and are still updated when karma is given.
Karma comments still show up in your CP.
The User CP anonymises who is giving out the Karma.

I think because it's not a *perfect* way it turning it off, per se, I'm going to ask to be put back in the main group, and just put up with it.

LOL, the duals are coming out of the woodwork.

I'm not being funny, but what did you expect? This won't address any of the faults that have occurred with Karma. It's still about gaining points and harvesting the little green pips in your bar.

As I've said before, if it was simply reduced to a comment system, then the focus would be on the posts themselves, and not the acquisition of needless points. How many posts across the board are in the name of gaining points? How many are about Karma?

I know it sounds preachy, what with myself being one of the largest users/abusers of it, but that's how I've always felt about it. That's why I dislike it. Whilst it's nice to add comments to other posts, why turn it into a competition?

To be quite honest, we may was well rename the board Karma Kingdom. If only I could come up with a third 'K' word, so the acronym of the board is 'KKK'...

I'd just as soon do away with it all together. Why is there a need for comments IN a post when there is a quote function and no one cares if there is double posting. Want to comment on someones post? Quote it and make a comment. But everything is competitive here. If it wasn't the karma, it would be post count, or who has the longest threads, or something else.

I'm still amazed at grown men turning into vindictive little bitches.

*Gasp*

COULD IT BE? Has somebody FINALLY managed to grasp the reason why I use it so often as a tool to piss off those needing to be pissed off??

We did just fine without Karma before it was installed. It's become a dominant board-wide obsession with many, and I don't think it's any good for the board.

If you'd rather not have it, scrap it. You pay the bills.

PUT TWO DICKS IN A ROOM AND THEY WILL ALWAYS ARGUE WHO IS BIGGER.
PUT TWO PUSSIES IN A ROOM AND THEY WILL ARGUE WHO HAS HAD BIGGER.
PUT THREE PUSSIES, FIVE COCKS, SIX PAIRS OF TITS, A BOX OF WINE, A SACK OF BLOW, AND A LATEX-WEARING GIMP CHAINED TO A TOILET IN A ROOM AND YOU HAVE A PARTY VIABLE FOR FILMING.

FORTUNATELY, MORBO IS BEYOND SUCH PATHETIC TRIVIAL TERRAN CONCERNS AS MORBO IS THE BIGGEST COCK THERE IS.

Why the need for comments inside a post? BECAUSE IT'S FUN AND IT SAVES TIME AND AVOIDS UNNECESSARILY BLOATING A THREAD WITH A CRAPLOAD OF "ME TOO" OR "YOU SUCK" POSTS.

So far this "solution" is more retarded than the problem was. The fact that not everyone's karma was reset is a major problem, and will enable people to feel justified in starting wars.

I'm sorry that karma annoys you mm, but you can deal with this without pissing off half the membership and exacerbating the problem. If you want to stop karma wars, take away the things that give people incentive to start karmabombings and wars: stop making it a status symbol, and stop using it as a source of punishment. You turned negging into a weapon by denying negged users access to board features. You also make it a weapon by giving admins an automatic +/-500 karma power.

If users piss you off, DC them. But don't entirely blame the users for screwing up karma when you make it so tempting. Comments are not the problem, and removing them does nothing to improve the TK experience.

MORBO LIKES GIVING AND RECEIVING KARMA COMMENTS BUT CARES LITTLE FOR KARMA "POINTS." IF MORBO WANTS TO HURT YOU, OR COME AT YOU, MORBO HAS OTHER WAYS OF MAKING MORBO'S AGENDA KNOWN.

You've been stalking one middle-aged man around the net for years. Once again, he is the sole reason you yourself are here. Does that class as OCD?
