LG is finally having her baby

Here you go! In the first one, he's like an hour old. The other one is from last night, as I was holding him. The last one is a RARE pic of him with his eyes open!

Extraordinary, I gather he got his mothers looks then?

Congratulations to both of you.

I want to vomit for saying it, but hey I mean it.

Normally I think people are just saying other people's babies are cute out of obligation, but he really, genuinely is adorable. What's his big bro think? :)

Tell LG I said hi, and I hope she's recovering quickly, and the baby is really beautiful.

I know, he could be a baby model, right? :)

Big brother is a typical 6-year-old. He really loves the baby, and wants to hold and kiss him...and then gets bored after a minute and just wants to go back to reading or watching TV.

And he's a really good baby too. He has his days and nights mixed up but I'm getting used to not sleeping, it's not so bad now.

I threw in the towel on nursing my baby boy, I pump and supplement with formula. My huge mommy heart could not take his sweet little hungry cry.

The C-Section was totally traumatic, I went from a routine doctor's appointment to being rushed to the hospital for my son to be born. When BDM says he barely made it, he's not kidding, I was one minute from getting my epidural when he came into the operating room.

The stay at the hospital was absolute shit, it ruined the whole experience because those devil nurses are breastfeeding Nazi's and wouldn't help me. At my follow up with my doctor I told him all about it, cried of course, and found out he's the head of obstetrics at the hospital and was totally pissed off that my experience was so terrible. He had me write a letter that he will personally give to hospital administrators.

So after 6 days of feeling like a terrible mommy, being a total basket case, and crying my eyes out day and night because my son wouldn't latch on I accepted my limitations and now my son is happy, I'm happy and he saw his doctor yesterday and got a clean bill of health, he's doing great, YAY!

Thank you for all the congrats and well wishes!!

XOXO

If you're pumping, and the milk is still flowing, can you not still try to get him latched on? or does that cause nipple confusion?

Are there specialists that can help you and the little one get it straight?

edit: not trying to judge at all here. I know this is a sensitive subject with a lot of people. sorry if I offend.

I remember us having the same problems with mine. It seems to happen more frequently with c-section births, when the mom is too out of it for first feeding they use a bottle, which has an entirely different mechanism to get the milk out. The baby learns that way (which is also way easier than the tit) and will sometimes refuse to do the boob after having it from the bottle. We worked and worked at it with my boy and finally got him to take the tittie, which will serve him well when he gets to high school age.

"breastfeeding Nazis"? Despite the fact that this sounds like a porn flick I'd rent in a heartbeat, what were they like, all "just keep mashing his face into it, he'll take it", or "you're not really a mother if you can't/don't breastfeed"?

Back when she had her kids, my sister caught a bit of the latter, and it pissed her off to no end...of course they turned out fine.
