Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5

How come it's gotta be Coulson or the world? WHY CAN'T THEY SAVE EVERTHING?

Because the time loop must be broken somehow. Its kind of like how in Groundhog Day, Phil couldn't save the old man even with all the hot soup.

Maybe in all the other loops they choose the world and they fail and this time they choose Coulson and he uses his magic arm to defeat Talbot in an epic arm wrestling match?

Well we're going to need to wait A WHOLE YEAR for season six as it won't debut until summer 2019. That also answers the "how will they deal with the Infinity War ending?" question: they won't have to since Avengers 4 will be out by then.

Well noone turned to dust. Figures they wouldn't want to spoil the film this soon after it came out.

YEAH I'm glad they remembered the extra Fitz. One of them had to die (like Fry and Lars in that Futurama) and it made sense to kill this one because he's from the obsolete timeline where the Earth was destroyed. Of course it's still going to be pretty complicated for the other Fitz as he isn't married to Jemma and doesn't know Coulson died...

And damn! Coulson died! I think for real this time. Because that scene really felt like the actors saying bye to Clark Gregg as much as it felt like the characters saying bye to Coulson. It really made it feel like a series finale. I wonder if they thought they were definitely done this year before they were told "nope, season 6!" Or if this was the plan all along AND HAYLEY ATWELL JOINS NEXT YEAR SOMEHOW. But it was a damn good performance bye Clark Gregg and he will be missed (at least he'll be in Captain Marvel but de-aged!)

Mack as the new Director doesn't feel like it'll be a permanent thing really, but at least it shuts up the people who were all "DAISY CAN'T BE THE LEADER SHE'S TOO YOUNG SHE'S A MARY SUE WHERE'S MY BOBA FETT MOVIE."

It was nice that Robin's mom didn't die in this timeline.

Daisy/Talbot fight was good considering they've had no budget all season. Of course it would have been ironic if Daisy doing the super Quake to send him to space was what actually destroyed the Earth...

I'm happy they didn't reference the Infinity War ending at all. Because why would they have? It's a different story and it would have completely undercut the ending of this story to have, say, May turn to dust when she was holding hands with Coulson at the end. Plus there would have been no way to resolve it withing AOS because season 6 doesn't come back until after Avengers 4 and we all know the dusting is being reversed there (and likely the dusted will have no memory of it.)

SO YEAH it was a strong finale and it's almost weird that season 6 is still happening after that and I have no idea what it's going to be like but at least they have plenty of time to work out Hayley Atwell's schedule eh.

Oh, that was really good. I was crying for Fitz but it was Coulson's goodbye they were all sad about THE WHOLE TIME. I thought they'd end with scooping Fitz up in space somewhere, but it was sweet they ended on the beach in Tahiti.

RENEWED: http://variety.com/2018/tv/news/agents-of-shield-season-6-abc-1202803343/

Only 13 episodes but that could actually help given that the budget was so low this season they had to film most of the episodes on one set with the lights off.

RENEWED AGAIN for a seventh season six months before we even get to see season six! https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/l...c-marvel-series-gets-an-early-renewal-1162132

Someone at ABC really likes this show I guess.
