In my experience, men and women can actually be friends without feeling any sexual attraction whatsoever. It only depends on the persons involved. Admittedly these specimens are very rare, but they do exist.
Luckily, the inner circle of my friends consists of males of the above mentioned rare sort =) The gay:straight ratio is about 50:50
