Anyone see the pilot?

Typical BBC production values but it wasn't that bad. I might stick with it. It looks like it will probably improve as well.

Also, Anthony Stewart Head is in it which is cool.

i caught a little, can be worse then robin hood....

merlins head is shaped like an onion though.....
 
It didn't look very good from the trailers so I didn't watch it.

But then again Michelle Ryan is in it and she does have very large breasts.
 
OMG, I caught Robin Hood on the BBC now that I have satellite. I was embarrassed to be watching it. AND I WAS BY MYSELF.
 
I wasn't expecting much from Merlin since it looks like it was made by the same people as Robin Hood (dunno if it actually is.. just looks similar), but I actually really enjoyed it. Merlin wasn't as dorky as he looked in the trailers, Richard Wilson, John Hurt and Anthony Head gave it credibility and Gwen from Touchwood didn't have sex with any demons or fellow team members. Her makeup made her look like a 300 year old Joanna Lumley, but the scene where she sang everyone to sleep was really impressive. Not sure about the CGI for the dragon.. his lips aren't very animated and his eyes don't seem to move, but John Hurt makes up for that with his cool voice. I'll look forward to next week's.
 
It's made by a lot of the Doctor Who crew apparently.
 
I didn't watch it exactly because it's on in the old Robind Hood slot and that show sucked and the trailer where the kid says "sssh, keep the magic secret!" BUT if you guys liked it I'll watch next week and give it a chance, innit.
 
I just saw that trailer again. It's so cringeworthy. Not a reflection on the series at all, though.
 
Yeah, the trailer is retarded. But the actual episode was fairly entertaining and the actor who plays Merlin is quite likeable and did a decent job I thought.
 
Also quite cute, which helps.
 
Ugh, I didn't think he was cute. Arthur was, though.

I am not aware of this show and going by the trailer I'm not sure I ever want to be aware of this show.

I watched it on iPlayer and it wasn't that bad. Eve Miles didn't make me want to bash her head in like she does on Torchwood, so that's good.

Could've done without the horrible teen Merlin/Guinevere (call me Gwen... BLLARGGHH) love story thing that will no doubt continue.

No Michelle Ryan this week though, which is a shame as her breasts really are very big.
 
Maybe they want to save her breasts for when the ratings go down.

I read today that RTD showed them "how to make the show better", so get ready for Merlin casting farting spells or something on Anthony Head.
