Howdy --making a rare appearance b/c I was looking this stuff up for a friend @ work today, and i just noticed this thread.
From Fandango (1985), early Kevin Costner comedy about a bunch of early 70's Texas college grads/dropouts who go on a road trip/last fling after two of them get drafted. Costner's pre-Postman charm is in full bloom here, and Judd Nelson, barely a year or two away from Breakfast Club, is a hoot playing a way-too-tightly-wound ROTC nerd with a fear of heights. But the real star of this is an actor who will never again in his career shine brighter --the guy who plays "Truman Sparks".
Anyway, after a furious argument in the car over draft dodging, which Costner & a cohort (I think it's Sam Robards) are planning to do, Nelson takes an impromptu dare to skydive at the indescribably sketchy Pecos Parachute School.
I'm not kidding, this is --for me personally-- one of the funniest 20 minutes of film I've ever seen. Enjoy:
