Aline Pereira brother Alex in MMA, Nov. 18
Pereira, 32, is the younger sister of Alex Pereira, the former two-division Glory Kickboxing champion who is now the top contender in the UFC's middleweight division. Alex, 35, will challenge old kickboxing rival Israel Adesanya for Adesanya's middleweight title in the main event of UFC 281 on Nov. 12 in New York.

Raul Rosas Jr., 18, to debut vs. Jay Perrin at UFC 282
It's official. Raul Rosas Jr. will become the youngest fighter to compete in the UFC. Rosas Jr. (6-0) is set to make his UFC debut against Jay Perrim (10-6) at UFC 282 on Dec. 10 in Las Vegas. Rosas' representative agency, Iridium Sports, announced the news on social media.
 
Nate Diaz officially out of UFC, will officiate future fights
The final fight on Diaz's UFC contract was against Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 on Sept. 10. But the UFC still had an exclusive negotiating window with Diaz, which is now over.

USDA Connor McGregor likely to be in testing pool 6 months
McGregor, the former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion, has been out of action since breaking his left leg in a fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor has not been drug tested since the third quarter of last year, according to the USADA website.
 

Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports to start athlete's voice committee


The Association of Boxing Commissions and Combative Sports (ABC), the organization that oversees athletic commissions in North America and beyond, is going to be giving fighters a seat at the table for the first time. The ABC is starting an athlete's voice committee, which will have seven retired fighters as members, to go along with other committees for medical, rules regulations, appeals and officials, ABC president Mike Mazzulli told ESPN on Wednesday. The committee plans to discuss subjects like judging and refereeing, appeal rights with commissions, workshops on contractual literacy and regulatory rights regarding managers and representation.

Leon Edwards bests Kamaru Usman again to retain UFC crown


Edwards (21-3) recorded his first defense of the UFC's 170-pound championship on Saturday in front of a home crowd at O2 Arena in London, earning a majority decision on the scorecards. Two judges scored the five-round title bout 48-46 in favor of Edwards while a third scored it a 47-47 draw. According to UFC Stats, Edwards outlanded Usman 123-113 in total strikes and defended 11 of his 15 takedown attempts. Even when Usman (20-3) did manage to drag Edwards to the floor, he failed to keep him down or generate a significant amount of offense. Usman was credited with five minutes of control time in the fight, half of what he accumulated in August.
