MODE 7 still impresses me to this day. AND THE MUSIC

As for computer games...

Duke Nukem 3D

THE ONE AND ONLY. I'm glad they never managed to release a sequel, no amount of polygons could ever replace 256 color pixelated stripper sprites.

Shake it, baby!

Wing Commander III

Luke Skywalker, Biff Tannen, the fat guy from Sliders (and that evil guy from Generations but no one cares about that). Fucking Epic. Absolutely astounding graphics for the time and IMO still unmatched in melding cinema and videogaming. The scene where the Kilrathi destroy the Terran planet killer still angers me to this day, and when you find out it was Hobbes who gave it's location up to the enemy....!

SimCity 2000

Yes SimCity 4 is a great game, but nothing can top filling your city end to end with launch arcologies.

Any fan of Lost should be required to play this game.

Space Quest V: The Next Mutation

Best of the Space Quest series, and constantly ripping on Star Trek.

Star Trek: 25th Anniversary

Nearly impossible without a FAQ (or 1-900 hint line back before teh internets), but great game nonetheless. Often hilarious with voice acted version.

Pilotwings was absolutley EPIC. I loved it. Also I now feel ashamed for leaving Wing Commander III out of my list. It was awesome.

Way back when most of you were hairless, I was at work on my IBM PC with Windows 3.1, and someone had left some game floppies on a table near my station. I loaded it and lo and behold, an addiction was born.

I'm not a gamer, but I got totally lost in the world of the DOS-o-rific Rise of the Dragon:

i got wing commander III for my 486DX2-50, found out that it required 8MB of RAM (I only had 4MB) and prodded my father into taking me to the best buy for the extra 4 1MB SIMMs to fill up my packard bell.

there was no comparing the two actresses that played the love interests. every time i played it through i chose ginger lynn. every time.
