New Batman movie - are you afraid to go now?

Maybe it is time I stop grieving for Heath Ledger and watch that movie then. Last thing I saw him in was Brokeback Mountain.

Its totally spooky how you cant even see its him when he's in full character. Its as good/better than Rises. The story's also merge so it's good for a prequel type thing. If you have it give it a whirl.

I'm about to call it a night. Watch the Batman movie with Heath Ledger in it and go to sleep. Early day tomorrow - starting with breakfast with friends 30 miles away at 9 in the morning. But, I have this awesome very retro dress I found at the thrift store for $3 and I must wear it and show it to them. I must, I must, I must. There is a power that compels me.

I'll be back to discuss Heath Ledger later.

You wont be sleeping though it Wheezie. :bigass:

btw it's very nice being friendly and normal with you again.

I want all the details on the dress too.

I tried to watch the Batman movie with Heath Ledger in it all the way through the other night but I did fall asleep. It has been a very busy week and I'm kind of worn down. Saw most of the movie though and I may watch it again, especially since I own it.

If I didn't know it was Heath Ledger playing the part of the Joker, I would not have known it was Heath Ledger playing the part of the Joker. Now I see what all the hoopla was from the critics and audience. Ledger was very good. That version of the Joker is exceptional.

However, there are some factors in that story that I just don't buy the plausibility thereof. For instance, that Batman taking the blame for Harvey Dent's actions was the best way out. The better scenario would have been to kill the Joker and let him take the blame for the crimes Dent committed. Then, while keeping Batman on the fringes as a vigilante working outside the law, not further marginalizing him as a hero of the people. Gotham still needed its heroes and it had lost one without hope of reclaim already with the death of Dent. However, being the Dark Knight and with the underlying psychological need to believe if he had retired the Batman he could have had a life with Rachel, maybe taking the fall for Dent so Dent's memory could remain a shining example was just as well the way for him to go out.

You're probably better off stopping the movie once joker is dealt with, the rest is superfluous and feels "tacked on".

It at least explains some of the premise to this latest Batman movie - the big deal over Harvey Dent and the connection as to why Batman is in the state he is in when the movie begins.

The Dark Knight Rises probably should have been done in at least two movies, maybe more, in order to better develop the lapse of time from when Bane took over Gotham and the final showdown. Someone else pointed it out to me, but the Scarecrow is in this movie also - as the judge sending those condemned out on the ice. It is doubtful to me that the citizens of Gotham in general would have been so accepting of their fates during the long occupation leading up to Batman's return. We knew before the occupation began that there were vigilante wannabes out there imitating Batman. Even though some of them died in their efforts, that wouldn't have thwarted those who truly felt the call. It would seem that some of the bad characters would have realized that Bane intended for them all to die and they would have changed from mindless destruction for the destruction's sake and worked toward their own self-preservation.

Crane was in all three movies, he gets beat up by Batman in the beginning of the Dark Knight. He's the only villain in all three.

I hate talking a movie to death.
