New Doctor Who

Sarah Jane came from 1980, but that didn't stop the world being destroyed in 1918 by Sultek.

The side effect of traveling in time is that the future always changes.

The music in the towing Earth scene was a bit over the top.

I really liked the CGI in the towing the Earth scene, especially when it comes to a stop.

There was definitely too much technobabble and as usual the end of the world was corny for various reasons. You can always see what they're aiming to do, but they never quite pull it off. Also, the appearance of Gita off Eastenders was an unusual surprise. But I think the episode was really saved by all the send offs and the scene at the end between David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins, even if, again, the thing about looking at the stars every night was corny.

Seeing all the companions together has really made me appreciate Martha even more. Not only is she reaaallly cute and fit, but she's also much more watchable and interesting. I liked the Osterhagen (sp?!) key scenes the most, probably. I suppose she learnt German when she was on her round the world trip to spread the doctor's name last season.

Donna will still be back for the specials, won't she? RTD will find a way. :(

Have they ever done daleks speaking a different language before?

Bernard Cribbins should be the companion in the Christmas special.

Martha's really good, when they give her something to do. Human Nature/Family of Blood, for example, she was excellent. Hell, the first episode of Torchwood she was in was the best of the season because she was the main chacters in the story. After that all she did was stand around and grow old. Then when she came back into Doctor Who she still didn't do anything.

How come in the Turn Left universe the stars started going out but the Earth (which was needed for the Dalek's reality bomb) hadn't been moved?

Maybe because like Rose Tyler's parallel universe the Turn Left universe was ahead(timewise) of our universe.

Yes, that's right. Rose's universe was ahead of the main universe, which is why she knew what was going to happen, as her world's Davros has already set off the reality bomb and destroyed all reali...

...wait.

...wait.

I never said it was THAT far ahead. But it was far enough ahead that she knew to come to the main universe to try and stop bad things happening in our universe.

No, I wasn't saying you were wrong, I'm saying that it's established that her universe was ahead of ours, and the Turn Left universe had all the stars going out (which meant, y'know, that all realities were being destroyed), but yet our universe somehow doesn't get destroyed...

Was the Rose in this one the same Rose from Turn Left? Did she remember sending Donna back? If so, then yeah, the universe should have ended and Pete shouldn't have been on a nursery run...

Oh I thought the stars going out had to do with the planets being stolen(?)

I've been watching the last few episodes on youtube. I think I'll need to re-watch them when they finally air on the Sci-Fi Channel in the States in a few weeks.

Also, they should have had Adam back in this episode if all the companions from the new series were returning, since he did travel in the Tardis so is TECHNICALLY a campanion if you ask me. Even though he sucked.

He lived in 2012.

im gonna be honest folks, i still luv Doc Who
but that was one of the suckiest finales in a long time imo
but my flatmate seemed to enjoy it
i just thought it was loud and filled with far too much fake tech talk(as others have said)
i was happy to see that Mickey made an appearance
they should put him on Torchwood i think
like they are doing with Martha
but i imagine the bbc would not like that idea
i can see them saying it would be too many black members for one cast or something
anyways, back to the doc who finale, what was i saying?
oh yeah, it was crap...

Well since we saw the stars going out individually, we can assume the destruction dosnt happan everywhere at once.

Rose's universe was ahead of the keep left universe, but it was the keep left universe getting destroyed, it could be that each universe has to be destroyed completely before the neighbouring universe can start destroying.

The keep left universe replaced ours, and the reason the darkness came is because there was no doctor to stop the bomb.

With a live doctor, in our universe, which replaced the keep left universe no bomb anywhere in any universe.

Thats why Rose was so desperate to break through and get to the Doctor, because she had already seen what would happen if he wasnt around to stop it.

Mickey's acting is still a bit ropey. So he should fit right in to Torchwood!

As long as he dosnt start kissing Jack's gun

I can't think of anything more to say on this episode. :(
