NEW SHOWS

It looks like it would have been a rollicking good movie, and he would have been able to live with the Galaxy Quest comparisons.

Instead he made it a TV series that will run out of steam sooner than he hopes. And weren't they going to make a Galaxy Quest TV show sometime soon?

I'm conflicted because I'll obviously watch it because it's a sci fi comedy, and it has Star Trek people involved in it (Brannon Braga, Jonathan Frakes and Robert Duncan McNeil are all directing episodes.) The spaceships look nice. The alien girl looks cute!

On the other hand, why does Seth MacFarlane have to act in it? Why does it need "men always leave the toilet seat up!" jokes? I have my doubts if it'll actually be funny.

Seth won't stick around to star in it that long, he'll get restless. Which might be a good thing -- he does 2 seasons and then they get a real actor to star.

Penny will only stick around a few seasons. She's like Rob Lowe that way, can't sit still in one series if she's on every week.

:sarek:

Yes, he attracted as many Trek/sci-fi names to it as possible -- to me that smacks of desperation to lend it "legitimacy". Which I guess is only a bad thing if you say it snotty like I just did lol.

Well having Trek people direct the episodes seems like a good idea becaue they can make them look and feel like Trek episodes (while still being funny...in theory.)

Looks promising. The one stark difference between the other DC shows it that it seems he's a capable Independant hero without a big supporting cast making all his big decisions. I hope so, be a nice change of pace. Wonder if he's hanging out in Flash' s, or Supergirl's earth. Maybe neither? Anyone else think it's odd how Supergirl has gotten better while Flash, and Arrow have declined in quality?

Apparently it isn't set in the Arrowverse at all. Of course then can later travel to his Earth for a five-way crossover of epic proportions (or a huge clusterfuck.)
