Source: Rams' Robert Woods gets 4-year, $65 million contract extension
The Los Angeles Rams and receiver Robert Woods have agreed to terms on a four-year, $65 million extension, including $32 million guaranteed, a source told ESPN. The contract has a $68 million maximum value.On Thursday, a day before Woods and the Rams agreed to terms, Rams coach Sean McVay said an extension would be done "very shortly," while Woods expressed hope it would be completed before a Week 2 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday. Over the past three seasons, Woods ranks among the top 11 NFL receivers in receptions, receiving yards and yards after catch. He produced consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons in 2018 and 2019 and last season led all NFL receivers with 577 yards after the catch. In a Week 1 20-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, Woods had six receptions for 105 yards.
New York Giants sign Devonta Freeman after losing Saquon Barkley
After losing Saquon Barkley for the season, the New York Giants signed running back Devonta Freeman to a one-year contract Wednesday. Financial terms were not disclosed, but agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the deal is worth up to $3 million.The Giants placed wide receiver Stering Shepard on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Shepard, who has turf toe, was injured during Sunday's !7-13 loss to the Chicago Bears. He will have to miss at least three weeks per IR rules for this season. He has eight receptions for 76 yards. Barkley tore the ACL in his right knee during Sunday's loss. Dion Lewis played every snap in his absence.

Steelers-Titans postponed after positive COVID-19 tests in Tennessee
Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans has been postponed to either Monday or Tuesday. The NFL said in a statement Wednesday that a new game date and time will be announced as soon as possible, adding that the postponement will "allow additional time for further daily COVID-19 testing and to ensure the health and safety of players, coaches and game day personnel." The postponement follows positive COVID-19 tests among the Titans from four players -- including starting nose tackle DaQuan Jones, long-snapper Beau Brinkley and practice squad tight end Tommy Hudson and five team personnel members this week. The Minnesota Vikings, who played the Titans on Sunday, had no positive results in their latest round of coronavirus testing, an NFL spokesperson told ESPN's Dan Graziano earlier Wednesday.
