New York Giants hire Brian Daboll as next head coach

The New York Giants have hired former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll as their new head coach, the team announced on Friday. Daboll replaces Joe Judge, who went 10-23 and was fired after two seasons. He was the third consecutive Giants coach to be fired after two seasons or less, following Ben McAdoo (13-15) and Pat Shurmur (9-23), as the once-proud franchise has stumbled through one of the worst 10-year stretches in its history. Now it's Daboll's turn to try to stop the trend. New York cleaned house this offseason. General manager Dave Gettleman retired following the conclusion of the season. Former Buffalo Bills assistant general manager Joe Schoen was hired in his place.

Brady's comments came after ESPN reported earlier Sunday that the 44-year-old quarterback is undecided about his future, and that while he could return for another season, it is far from a given. Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington that Brady plans to take time after the season ends, a month or longer -- to assess how he feels physically and mentally while also gauging his family's desires. Coach Bruce Arians said there's no timetable for when a discussion with Brady about his future will take
