On Mine Field Pond

Cane toads are poison! Srsly. If your dog catches one it can kill them pretty quick. Last year Beebee was chasing one, and I spent ten minutes washing her mouth out just to be sure she didn't get poisoned. They were introduced in south Florida to control sugarcane beetles in the 1950s. Now they are everywhere.

This cane toad is no longer living his best life!

I think there could be baby minnows someday, but I couldn't really see any eggs. The baby daddy rosy minnow guards the eggs, and then he guards the babies until they are bigger. I know that weird behavior is spawning behavior, but I couldn't get the camera in the right place to see what's going on.

Why is everything in Florida lethal and/or poisonous?

I just noticed three other baby daddy fish guarding eggs! I could probably easily get some footage now. It is hotter than the surface of the sun outside, so I will try to do it in the morning.
