Mirah
I love you
I am a positive person, but I also think I am a realist. If something sucks, I will just say it sucks.
Unless it is your first blackberry pie. I will tell you it tastes marvelous! I'll leave the food honesty to Dr_Dave. (YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN DR_DAVE DON'T PRETEND LIKE YOU DON'T!)
So where do we draw the line at being too fucking positive? If you are a motivational speaker, but you just got hit by a train, is it ok to say this fucking sucks? Or do you still put a positive spin on it? Are you being honest with yourself and others when you say, "I am positive I will be back on my feet soon, and everything will be ok, and I'll just keep thinking positive and it will be ok, and I'm fine, and this doesn't hurt and everything is ok"
I am exagerating a little bit, but I am trying to make a point. I totally believe in positive thinking, but I also believe in honesty.
I think the only people I know who are like this are those that have businesses where it is their job to be positive and motivate others, but it gets annoying at times. I also wonder if it is a detriment when it seems they cannot relate to the suffering of others because they think if you just have a positive attitude it will all go away.
Are they pretending or are they really THAT FUCKING POSITIVE?!
