Remember when I told you guys I plan on buying a Motorcycle?

Heres one that I've found being sold locally. Its a 96 Yamaha Virago 535cc

The seller wants $1000 FIRM for it. Heres a description..

Good condition motorcycle, can easily be turned into a bobber or just left as is. it is currently not running due to a bad battery but it was still running in October 2010. I have clean title in hand. Price is firm due to info below.

i had the Carbs cleaned and a new slide (90.00) was purchased for the carbs also a new fuel valve(300.00) was also purchased for better fuel flow and installed by motorcycle mechanic. The bike is in decent condition for the year. I purchased this season n planned on purchasing new shocks and painting black but i purchased a new motorcycle. So I am selling this one @ a cheaper price. Recent mechanical work total close to 700.00.

I e-mailed this guy asking were there any unlisted issues that I should know about this bike, and if I came over with a new battery and dropped it in, could I simply hop on and ride away without any issues? This is his response..

Yeah could try that. I purchased it like in July of 2010 n when I bought it I had to get carbs rebuilt. At the shop they told me I needed a new slider for the carbs n that was 80.00 then they told me the gas was flowing to the carbs cause the prev. Owner let it sitting for too long. So it was a new petcock n some other stuff for fuel line. Was an extra 300.00 for the part. They took 8wks to fix it so I ended up buying a yamaha vstar classic n then a week later they gaved me the virago. It was running fine I was using both bikes. Then 1 day I tried to start it up n it won't start. It makes a clicking noise. I was told by the mechanics it was the battery. But they told me this over the phone. So I'm sorry for the long story but just want u to know all the details. Ur more than welcome to come n try it out. Just let me know.

Soo...what do you all think? Is it worth taking a chance on?

I e-mailed the guy selling it and told him that I will be there friday with battery in hand to take a look at it. If its all that he says it is, I think I'm gonna go for it. I did some research on youtube about this bike, and this is what I came up with.

Suprisingly, my wife has been pretty quiet about this. She's been like "Whatever" :mmph:

$1000 isnt bad at all for a starter bike though!

Well I went to take a look at it today, and just like he said..all it needed was a jump. I brought my battery booster with me and within a few short cranks, she fired right up. I checked everything on it and everything worked perfectly. I couldnt take it for a long test ride due to the snow and ice, so I told him that I'd be back tomorrow with the money and a tow truck to carry it home for me!

Summer Fun, here I come :techman:

Well, I went and bought it today. Due to the Ice and Snow I can't take it out anywhere, so all I can do now is clean it up and give it a good tune up. As soon as the weather lets up...ZOOM!!!

The guy that sold it to me even threw in a helmet :techman:

Once my riding skills are up to par, this is what I would like my next bike to be

Yuo know, when I frst bought this bike, I was so excited about it that I didnt bother to check the miles on it. This bike is a 1996 model, but it only has 5271 miles on it!

Doing the math, the previous owner only put on average roughly 317 years on this bike each year!!

Assuming that the mileage gauge hasnt been tampered with, THIS THING IS PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW!!!

Cock:those are for little kids, man

Looks pretty full sized to me.. :)

I plan on buying this with my next years income tax refund..(that is if I get one)

Luckily, Rockstar the makers of the Grand Theft Auto games, already made your bike. It's name is the clue.
