Repubotards reach all new levels

Hambil

I AM A GOLDEN GOD

The House on Wednesday evening passed an $819 billion economic stimulus package Wednesday on a party-line vote, despite President Obama's efforts to achieve bipartisan support for the bill.

The final vote was 244 to 188. No Republicans voted for the bill, while 11 Democrats voted against it.

"The underlying bill, while it has some good provisions, has a lot of wasteful provisions and slow-moving spending in it," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio. "We have to act -- we have to heal the ailing economy. The question is how to do it best; we think that fast-acting tax relief is the way to get it done."

Yes, let's keep doing what hasn't been working for 30 years. More tax cuts to the rich. And let's vote in mass against a stimulus package put forth by one of the most popular presidents in a 100 years in the worst economy since the great depression.

Will there BE any repubotards LEFT in office after the next mid-terms?

The stimulus package is inherently flawed because we don't have $800B in the US budget. Where's the money gonna come from? Taxpayers? It's completely counter-intuitive.

Either that, or they have to print more money. However, that ends up in ungodly inflation. Then, again, the taxpayer is the one who foots the bill.

Thanks Democrats.

I don't agree, but it doesn't matter. After 9/11 the democrats got behind Bush and supported a number of things, like the patriot act, that we didn't necessarily agree with. It turned out badly, but, I'd do it all again the same way. Because in times of crisis you need to have unity and empower your leadership. There isn't always the luxury of endless debate.

That's not to say I want to crush debate (unlike the republicans after 9/11). Debate all you want. Shout your opinions from the mountain tops. Engage the president, the public, the press - make your case with tooth and claw and nail. But when all is said and done and the president calls the play, back him up for once your pricks.

Yes, damn that criminal Bush for spending a trillion bucks in deficit spending. Let's fix all his shit by ... spending more! Pork for everyone!

Funny how even the democrats now claim tax cuts help the economy. But Bush was a criminal for supporting them. Now the republicans are criminals for not supporting them.

"We are very pleased with the progress," said Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., after $275 billion in tax cuts cleared the House Ways and Means Committee on a party-line vote of 24-13.

"It will create jobs immediately, and it will also lay the foundation for economic stability as we go forward," Pelosi added.

Funny how the democrats voted down every previous tax cut as bad for jobs. What changed? Oh, that's right. Obama the Magic Negro was coronated with a $120 million bash the media reported we needed after Bush's $45 million bash the media claimed hurt Americans.

And for the record, I hate both republicans and democrats. I despise the hypocrisy and corruption of both parties who serve themselves and not the public.

Hambil, your support for a partisan system that does not serve the interests of the people tells me all I need to know about you.

Kudos to Obama for providing funds once again to abort little niggers in Africa, by the way. Less niggers Americans will be forced to feed.

:2fingers:

I'm sorry. I don't understand your German. Go back 70 years and translate that for me.

Two things that don't go together: claims of intelligence, and bigotry.

Good for the republicans. When the pork laden stimulus bill fails to stimulate the economy, the blame can't be laid at their feet.

Notice how a partisan simply changes the subject when presented with reality and resorts to ad hominem attacks? Typical.

I thought Hambil was supposed to be some whiz? This guy is a joke. Or all troll.

I'm not talking about blind faith. As I said, debate it all you want. Even vote against some things, but a protest vote at this point just so you can (maybe) say "I told you so" later is just arrogant, selfish, and potentially harmful to your own party and our country.

They aren't debating the need for a stimulus packed, they are voting against it over minutia. They aren't saying "Where will the money come from" they are saying "The tax cuts aren't deep enough." In the meantime, Americans are suffering and the economy grows worse.

*I* changed the subject? I didn't bring up the global gag rule, you did. Classic responses from your type - do you share a paint by numbers card? First derail the thread, then claim I derailed the thread and am afraid of you. Next claim victory and say I'm pwnd.

PS> Throw in a few words like ad hominem so it sounds like you know something about debate when you clearly don't.

Well, given that he started the thread out with "Repubotard" as the first word in the thread title, you couldn't exactly expect sophisticated discourse in ideas, could you?

Pot, Kettle, considering you've authored such classics as:
Republicans are classier than Democrats...
and
Will the Jackasses steal another election?

We both use inflammatory remarks to draw people into our threads and debate. Plus, it's TK so we can speak our minds. That doesn't mean we aren't interested in or capable of real debate.

I'll make this as clear as possible.

Spending $800B that the government doesn't have will just make the economy worse.

What makes the economy better are budget and tax cuts. If the government spends less money, the less money comes out of our taxes. Ergo, the economy has more money and the government has less. The way it should be.

If a private citizen did this with credit cards, his credit score would end up below 300. Charge hundreds of thousands of dollars on credit cards, then tell the credit card companies, "hey, I'm gonna pay you back, but I have to raise the money first." He then proceeds to pay off all his credit cards using other credit cards. Meanwhile his debt goes through the roof.

That is what is going to happen to our economy if the government doesn't stop spending the money they don't have. Bottom line, it comes from our pockets.

These Bozos on Capital hill wearing Democrat buttons are the biggest problem when it comes to the economy. They say to themselves, "I've got plenty of money in the bank, it won't really hurt me if I tax what income I have." On the other hand, the small business owner goes, "They're raising taxes again? Well, I can't hire those new employees now, and my salary has to take a cut to keep the employees I already have."

What does that do to the economy? It keeps the rich richer and prevents the new blood companies from entering the game. It makes the economy stagnate. This spending bonanza that the Dems are on about is gonna fuck us ALL over.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like Republicans, either. But, at least they have a better understanding of a free trade economy.

Weren't the Republicans for the stimulus package a few months ago? I don't think it's a good idea either, but I was under the impression that the Republicans and Bush were for it back when McCain put his campaign on hold. What has changed since then?

Bush was for it; the RNC denounced him as a socialist shortly after. Republican congressional support was split, but, IIRC, mostly against it.

People are loosing jobs at record rates. Families, with children. You will pay for this one way or another. Unemployment, uninsured injuries and sickness, cascading effect of job loses and industry collapses on your stock market portfolio...

I don't have the answer - risk inflation, risk depression - but I know Obama is a smart man, who has put together a real cabinet of experts and even some republicans, not just a bunch of crony appointments. He needs to be given a chance to prove himself, for better or worse.

Yeah, but trust is gained with proof of sanity. Not with a spending proposal of such gargantuan proportions.

Well the responsibility will be on the democrats. If the stimulus helps, which I have my doubts, then they will get all the glory. But if it fails, then they take the blame.
