Sexuality in Star Trek wikipedia

Enterprise only got canned about two years ago, unless times have moved on signficantly in the last 24 months, they could have adressed it then.

Five years I think.

You're right.

Damn my life is going fast.

Dystopian Sci-Fi is a dime a dozen. Trek's Utopian ideal is one of Trek's defining attributes and has never been a detriment to the show. Utopia's need to be sustained and they are not taken for granted in Star Trek. Quite the contrary.

The fact that there has never been any "exploration" in to homosexuality in the 24th century beyond two hot chicks briefly kissing is a major cop out really. Equality is a big part of the ethos of Trek so to blatantly avoid it on a show like Trek is not about simply not pandering to the Gay Agenda but to avoid a huge aspect of society that should have been addressed. Practice what you preach and all that.

No, I like the positive future bent, I just dislike the absurd way it is portrayed. There's no context or reason. Human's are just perfect, and the rest of the galaxy is scum. Earth is a happy communist paradise where nothing bad ever happens by internal means.

Yea positive is fine, Utopian bullshit is stupid. And this is a TNG creation. Except on TNG, it had Picard as its emissary, so you believed it, cause Picard eloquently said so.

Since then it has taken on a life of its own, and infected Voyager which made the whole show completely ghey, and not in the way you guys would have liked.

TNG still had evil admirals. At least 50% of all Starfleet Admirals were at the least "a bit dodgy". That's no utopia!

And Earth had at least one penal colony, so it's not like nobody ever broke the law.

But that was a Starfleet penid colony, wasn't it? (You mean the one Paris was in when Janeway recruited him, yes?) Apparently humans were perfect until they chose to go into the military, then they became imperfect.

Maybe there were plenty of gays but THEY JUST DIDN'T HAVE TO BE IN THE STORYLINE OK? LIKE, COS IT WAS SO NORMaL!

Gene Roddenberry would've totally done a gay Star Trek character, but would have probably made him SEX MAD. Not because he was gay, but because in his mind everyone in Star Trek was SEX MAD.

Gene also wrote that paragraph about how Kirk and Spock were totally NOT gay for each other, though.

Incidentally, Tasha Yar was originally named Macha Hernandez, but the name was apparently changed because "macha" is a Spanish word for lesbo.

Tasha Yar was so gay she'd only have sex with robots.

And rape gangs.
