Spartacus: Blood and Sand

SQUEEEE!!!!! lol

I don't know if the prequel will be any good, but I'm glad they're doing cuz who knows how long it will be before season 2.

I haven't seen any bush yet, but if they're showing dong I can't imagine why they wouldn't eventually. Also, when I say they had a gay sex scene, I mean a MALE gay sex scene. I was shocked (not in a bad way), because I expected them to be too squeamish to depict such a thing. There's a disclaimer at the beginning of each episode stating “Spartacus is a historical depiction of ancient Rome’s society and culture. The intensity of the sensuality, brutality and language is to suggest an authentic representation of that period.” I wonder if they're receiving any complaints, lol. I can just see someone thinking they're going to get blood and guts flipping out over the gladiator kissing his boyfriend.

I downloaded all the episodes from rapidshare but have yet to watch them. I heard about the gay sex scenes, but back then it wasn't a big deal & not uncommon. Ancient Roman times wasn't so homophobic, times changed when hokey christian religion & change in politics later on dictated to society that gays were somehow bad. I hate the hypocrisy of modern religion & phony christians!! Look at these religious leaders who preach against homosexuality & then get caught with having sex with guys on the side.

^^^Hard to believe someone so obviously gay in appearance & mannerism EVER fooled anyone!

I think it is episode 8. The guy isn't that pretty in the face, but WHO'S LOOKING AT HIS FACE?

I've only watched half of the 1st episode, but this sounds like something to look forward to. I also have the TUDORS series laying around waiting for me to watch...i'm behind on my tv viewing. The only 2 shows i watch regularly are GLEE & VAMPIRE DIARIES.

GOOD NEWS!

Star of 'Spartacus' recovering, ready soon for season two
Monday, May 17, 2010

Fans of Spartacus on Starz can now rejoice. The racey period piece about the Roman Empire is coming back in a six episode prequel early next year, and production is expected to resume soon on season two.

The show was delayed when star Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with early-state non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Sources at the network say Whitfield is recoving and he will be in season two.

On the Red Carpet's Chris Balish caught up with one of the stars of the show, actress Lesley-Ann Brandt, and asked about Whitfield's health. "He’s great. I just got an email from him and he’s doing really good. He’s just about finished his treatment."

Brandt went on to say that fans of the show can expect plenty more of the show, "We’re ready to give you guys another couple of great seasons of Spartacus for sure.”

Spartacus will air a six episode prequel this summer, followed by season two, next year on Starz.

Cool, the prequel will be this summer. We're going to need something to watch during the summer! ALSO, I'm very glad Andy Whitfield is in recovery. I know it is selfish of me to want him well, BUT I LOVE SPARTACUS, OK? :rwmad:

WE WILL KILL THEM ALL.
