Star Trek 12 news/countdown thread

If Di$ney buy$ STAR TREK, I see Paul W.S. Anderson directing the first Star Trek/Star Wars crossover movie, & the Strause Bros. directing the second Star Wars/Star Trek crossover flick.

I was wondering when this thread was going to have some actual news again.

So who is April in this universe if Pike was the first captain of the enterprise?

He shows up at the end of the issue on a pre-warp planet that has Federation weapons and a universal translator provided by April. He says he was the captain of a ship named Enterpise but I guess it's possible it was a different Enterprise.

I'm excited to see 23rd century London smashed up, for whatever reason. And even more excited that the Enterprise may end up being FUBARed... although knowing our luck they'll manage to put humpty dumpty back together again in pristine condition for Star Trek (1)3.

Seems to be a lot of starships in planetary atmospheres in this movie... The Enterprise hiding in an ocean at the beginning, then apparently crashing into San Fran, and finally there was that other ship that crashed into the sea in the earlier trailer. Is Abrams just trolling us now?

Maybe the movie will be shown in ten 10-minute chapters, like an old serial, and he's showing us the cliffhanger from each chapter first!

No. Ships in the atmosphere has never really been a problem. I'm not sure where the idea that they can't handle atmosphere came from. All the way back to TOS we saw the Enterprise inside atmosphere. "Tomorrow is Yesterday" TOS season 1 is a prime example.

The damage looks mostly superficial, dont think there is any need for another enterprise yet.

Besides, remember the first time the enterprise got destroyed? They replaced it with one that looked just like it and stuck an A on the end of the name.
